Haha, a spam company! Everyone better quickly delete their PMs with payment info, addresses and other things you thought would be safe!

Looking forward to people seeing google ads for keyboards they spoke about in GH PMs.

Yikes. Can't say I blame you. I can't pretend that I wouldn't sell a significant money-sink (iirc someone mentioned ~300$/mo in hosting fees) for big bucks. I'm sure people will be very pious and puritan about "not selling out", but they're not the ones in debt from it. And hey, worst-case scenario,...

Good catch - I'm not sure if it is compatible. You might need to get the Alps plate and a normal case.

A cheaper Preonic alternative is to get an XD75, which supports Alps: - $30 shipped for the PCB: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/-/32831044551.html - $30 bent steel case + plate: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/stainless-steel-bent-case-for-xd75-60-custom-keyboard-acrylic-panels-acrylic-diffuser/328...

There are command-line utilities: scas: Soarer's Converter Assemble - takes a .sc keymap file and converts it into a .bin file that you can flash scwr: Soarer's Converter Write - takes a .bin file produced by scas and writes it to the converter Assuming you're on Windows, there should be a .bat file...

I don't think those are supposed to be thicker, but rather made for dye sublimation as they're made of PBT Also see the previous announcement about SA-P on that page: This new SA-P tooling has thick, uniform walls i.e.no first shot void to fill, and is designed for PBT shrink. It seems to imply tha...

Shame they want to charge $15.30 shipping to Europe for the $2 kit or I'd already have bought one.

I recently played around with a cheap joystick as a pointing device and it was really comfortable! If we could find a low-profile one (like the kind found on a Nintendo 3DS or Switch), it would be ideal.

I think that a full 75% is going to be kind of overkill. Do people heavily use F-keys for HTPC uses? I would go larger than a planck though. I find 40%s unusably small, even for HTPC use-cases. Would be a pain in the ass trying to figure out how to type Symbol X that you need for entering a local sm...

I spray painted my SGI Granite’s plate, and by the time I got a coat of primer and enough layers of base coat for it to stick well, it was quite tight for switches. I think I ended up popping out some paint when I put a couple of switches in.

I have so many questions. Why would you bother with a full set of X alphanum keys? Did you custom order them? If so, why not just go blank?!

If not, do you own enough Model Ms to make a full keyset out of Xes?!? Did you have to custom, order Xes with homing bumps?!?

I honestly think that Matias switches are better than many of the less interesting genuine Alps variants (salmons, dampened creams, etc etc), so I'm with you here vivalarevolución.
