I agree with the concerns raised above by xtr0n, phinix, and others. I have been piecing together several comments by 7bit going back a few weeks, and I have more questions. 7bit says there are orders that are marked as unpaid from people who claim that they actually paid. This is because Mashby and...

Won't they be informed that their payments are received and "processed" with the updated invoice 7bot sends? It adds accountability to the paypal collectors. We know they're receiving payment and passing it along if they announce payments coming in. I don't see how it creates anything other than a ...

What I'd love to see is a go-to DSA set with a neutral color for the alphas, since that would allow the community to run GBs for DSA Alps modifier and 'expansion' kits, adding support for ortholinears, NorDeUK kits, Apple mods, split space bars, Ergodox kits, etc., all with a minimal number of keys...

I second the nomination for the Zealencio silencing clips. GMK clips were a fine idea but they are useless for the vast majority of mechanical keyboard users since they only support PCB mounted switches. But Zealencios also work with plate-mounted switches, which is an amazing feat of engineering an...

I finally found a photo of the "small" cadet legends several pages back. To be honest they look like masterpieces compared to the artless legends that appear in so many popular community group buys. Heck some people might even prefer them to the "large" legends. 7bit should not have any trouble sell...

After some reflection, I now see that the bottom row modifiers are the real problem here. The palm-on-desk typists are going to be hitting the modifier keys on their sharp edge, which seems like too harsh a sentence just for being lazy! Flipping the modifier keys around the other way will not work a...

People bitched and moaned about SA's row3 Shift keys for years, and not because of any ergonomic deficiency, but simply because they didn't look right sitting next to the other row4 keys. The same aesthetic deficiency plagues this set, IMO, and deserves correction for the same reason. The situation...

also consider that this is a hi profile set. we need some extra care if we don't want the spacebar to destroy your thumbs. If this is true, why doesn't it apply to the mods next to the spacebar? I'd say, because you don't hit them with your lateral mid-thumb? There seems to be some confusion here a...

compared to the other rows those spacebars are very low actually (also the mods and the spacebar are on different layout too :) ). I see that now. The spacebar is high relative to the adjacent modifiers. But it is somewhat lower on where it should be from the previous row. Also interesting to note ...

The lower spacebar is to make it more comfortable compared to --say-- SA profile. The argument so far is just "make it taller so it is flush with the modifiers", which is aesthetics against usability. Making the last row convex introduces other issues and I wouldn't go that route (even though I adm...

If you have comments speak now or forever hold your peace https://i.imgur.com/25Di9A7.jpg The height of the spacebar does not look right to me, compared to the height of keys on the same row. If Topre Hi Pro and IBM Beam Spring are the inspiration then there should be a higher or a lot more convex ...

I will be adding ANSI keycaps this week. VORTEX PBT+POM ANSI sets in Black or in White.

I thought you might like to know about this site:
https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/category/keycaps_2/
They are selling pre-orders for ISO Vortex PBT doubleshots. No ANSI sets yet.
I don't know much about the site. But they are in based in Europe. They need to advertise more.

I feel confident that evangs will re-run LightCycle in the new year. But if it doesn't happen then it is only fair to make other arrangements. After thinking about it a little more, my reason for wanting to add the 1.5u bottom row modifiers was primarily to accommodate people who have a 7u space bar from their donor board. If the goal is to encourage experimentation with keyboard layouts on Alps boards then what would really help is having a go-to Alps DSA profile set. We might almost have this with the Light Cycle set next year. I agree that if people really wanted more exotic Alps layouts, we would already see more ...

VAIO are still making great laptops after the spin-off from Sony. The VAIO Z is the pro version, while the VAIO S is more durable and has more ports. But I don't think they are available in Europe.

It's great there is a lot of thought about how to maximize the possible layouts with minimum amount of keys. But I'm not sure there are so many layouts commonly used out there. I think these are the most common Alps layouts: * The KBParadise V60 and V80 both use the standard AT101W layout. These are...

In addition to a doubleshot Alps Dolch, Tai-Hao also produce Olivette and White-on-Black. All three variants go on sale on Massdrop every couple of months. I am glad the keyboard and the new switches are getting some more publicity. I held off on the Indiegogo campaign because the full-size keyboard doesn't appeal to me.
