Upside-down rubber domes and plungers would be my guess.

There are a lot of border lines that should be re-drawn, all over the world, but I can see how "confederations" of a smaller number of larger, more autonomous bodies are far more problematic than "unions" of a larger number of smaller and weaker bodies. Scotland is an interesting case because it cou...

People on eBay are ridiculous. Nobody within their right mind could say that that is a reasonable price People list things like beam springs at ridiculously high prices and idiots sometimes buy them Ebay is the worldwide free market. If a buyer will pay $10, $100, or $1000 for something, then that ...

where to get those nice coloured keycaps for model f/m s? is unicomp selling these as well? Unicomp sells a rainbow of colors in 1x size, printed and unprinted, but not the larger modifiers (AARRGGHH!) except for the RGB set. Also, I have successfully dyed keys and that may be the only way to get t...
I recommend reading some interviews with mass murderers and terrorists, to understand how they think and what caused to them to develop those viewpoints. They are insightful and provide useful information for creating methods to prevent future activities. And everyone should read this, if they have...

I do not have a drill press. The awl was my preferred method before I started using the tiny burr. The work is exacting, but I set the object in a sturdy frame, put on a strong pair of reading glasses and lean in close, and use both hands holding my tool (with my elbows sticking out in opposite dire...

not sure why the verse was quoted in that context. My reason for quoting Jesus, one of the greatest moral philosophers (and arguably one of the greatest men) of all time was two-fold. First, because I generally try to make it my policy to reinforce my comments with independent 3rd-party opinions or...

The money given to the government to govern is given in trust. It doesn't belong to the government I absolutely disagree with this concept in the strongest terms possible. Although I left my religion behind long ago, and am today a raging atheist, I still look to the words of Jesus in this matter. ...

the ansi mod in practice was a matter of inserting/moving some springs on the unpopulated holes below enter and shift and changing those caps? I went through the whole process here, if you are interested: https://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/ibm-model-f-122-key-terminal-ansi-mod-by-harry-t11102.html...

I believe that it was Dorkvader who suggested making the divots with the smallest spherical burr on the Dremel.emdude wrote: ↑
I am particularly interested in seeing your alternative to using the soldering iron for making divots.

I can't find anything about Trump courting terrorists Not everyone defines "domestic terrorism" as "terrorism" occurring on US soil. Some of us consider "domestic terrorism" to be terrorist acts on Americans, or on American itself, committed by other Americans. These include, but are not limited to...

The Realforce TKL layout is quite nice, when I get a Topre board that will be the one, but for now I need numpad. I have learned through experience that I tend to hit the left side of Backspace, the right side of Right Shift, and also the right side of Left shift, so each of those "annoyances" adds ...

The ultra rare bit is a misconception though. That simply isn't true. For me, the operational adjective is "straight-ANSI" which is all-but-impossible to find. Bigass Enters, small Backspaces, shift keys that are "wrong" all render keyboards almost unusable for me. And comparing a very sturdy, well...

I agree with Phosphorglow on the M plates. I have been lucky in that most of the ones that I have dealt with have been reasonably clean and only minor touch-up was needed, at most. F plates, on the other hand, and most vintage Alps plates have considerable rust and need sandpaper and paint. As far a...

The PS/2 connector is physically a "mini-DIN-6" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini-DIN_connector but only 4 pins are active as #2 and #6 in this diagram don't do anything. I have seen keyboard cables where they were cut off or did not exist.

F122 http://www.ebay.de/itm/162007638618 The photo is very dark, but I would guess that it might be a Model M. Clever how they obliterated the important part of the label. That looks like a yellowed ABS spacebar, which I know that Greenock used in the late-1990s, but I would not have thought that i...
