My first MX keyboard came with Brown switches, I liked it a lot but really disliked the small bump on some of the keys I used for gaming, namely Shift, Ctrl, Spacebar, Arrow keys and WASD. It annoyed the hell out of me so I changed them to linear stems. Great Improvement and not really as noticeable...

That is the exact opposite of why most people use dual monitor setups. Low res demands more screens. Once the resolution goes up (4K), the need for a dual monitor setup is less critical. But I am with you on the elbows on desk thing, ne0phyte! Before I got armrests on my chair, I couldn't use my key...

yes, I would go with 8mm if it's for a group buy, where not everyone might be as good at "packing" the wires inside and solder it flat.
But 7mm should be doable with a Teensy inside. 6 mm if we could get a Teensy without the mini USB port.

I have a total of 7,2mm between my top and bottom plate, and that is enough to fit a teensy inside aswell. It's just a matter of packing it nicely ;)

Sandy55 has a picture of that NTC keyboard but seen from the side to better compare, seems like the case is exactly the same.

I think you are right, Daniel. The case definitely looks more like the NTC than the Cherry G80-1000, especially if you also compare the LED cover. The legends, however doesn't quite look like either of them, but that might simply be down to the model being ANSI instead of the big ass Daniel linked t...

Those stupidly high prices are paid by us, so we the buyers are the responsible for them, not the limited editions per se. Well, we the no-problem-with-cash-clients  This attitude is exactly what I don't like about this community. They are only paid by those who can afford it. Those who can't ...

Yes, that is why they flip the spacebar.. well in some cases, some people are just weird that way even with OEM and Cherry profiled spacebars. But there is a major difference between Cherry, DCS and OEM profile. DCS is not too different from Cherry in the rest of the rows but the bottom row is just ...

A centre legend PBT DCS GB would be quite distinctive!

Carbon ink would have been a good choice if you where going to create something like the SNES controller, where you have a conductive dot in the top of the rubber dome which, when depressed, will complete the carbon ink trace trace on the PCB, actuating the switch. http://www.pcbtrain.co.uk/blog/wp-...

I agree, some sort of curated news site would suit me greatly. I just don't have the time to regularly read DT right now, much less GH. And I hate missing great projects and group buys. :) Ah, so the news shouldn't only include new products/keyboards, but also some kind of handpicked forum threads/...

Re: "clack" sound technically.

Nope, the keycap will not touch anything on the switch other than the stem it sits on... or it shouldn't. The exception is when O-rings is used, but then it's technically not the keycap that is touching the switch. It's the stem that's making the noise when it hits the bottom of the switch housing. ...

Well, which form factor? the availability varies depending on that.

I can see you already have a G80-1000, if you are satisfied with that, you could buy some MX Clears and change them out with the Blacks on it.

badass audio setup is badass!

I think it would benefit if the keycaps would retain the ability to change the legend (like on modern relegendable keycaps). That way, different languages would also be supported much easier.

Well, it actually does! Like on all ISO layouts the key next to left shift would be left out when using an ANSI layout instead. It can be circumvented (AHK) or ignored completely, but you still have to do without it.
