If you skip out on "off-topic" and "marketplace" there are esentially no dust ups. That being said, I think you missed out on the rise in price of Brown Alps and White Alps, both of which have gone threw the roof. Brown Alps being the new(ish) hotness, and White Alps as a resonable replacement for ...

If you get a NOS Black Alps board, you can click mod them and they feel a hair better then Matias Clicky switches. Or if you already know you like Matias switches then you could get a dusty Alps board and swap out the switches. You can get a 200 pack of Matias clicky for about 35 (i think) so that w...

The switch is a pretty cool, I wonder how long R&D took to design it. They did a kickstarter, you can check their page. It took forever it seemed, I backed it and got a bunch of switches that I can't use because I didn't know they required surface mount detectors and light sources... On that note a...

Doesn't have to be that cheap when the price you are trying to beat is $800 for a 70ish switch keyboard.

Even reproduction beamsprings would be quite expensive, due to the tooling costs and all. Insanely expensive, and out of the question for anyone that doesn't manage a quite rich company I'd say. Repro would be expensive, but just remaking the switch modules and putting them in a redesigned(cheaper)...

Well according to the current regime in Washington they want to conduct a "Trade War" with China hence it may become far harder in the future to get anything shipping to the US out of China. Source? Unicomp keyboards are made in the USA, though I am sure they source the electronics from China. That would explain the "origin China". It is known Unicomp has the old Lexmark Model M molds, this is a fact.

This is the easiest Model F to ANSI mod. Pop "ANSI mod Model F" in your search and you will find something on that. I dunno about that. The AT (and XT) spacebar can go to hell. @DeChief I use Evapo-Rust, it is expensive but only attacks rust (mostly). Vinegar will induce some additional rusting if you introduce too much air into the mix, not a large concern if you only leave it for a day or so but would be an issue if you left it longer. If something has rusted deep then a...
