Re: Post absolutely everything you know about Blue Alps.
Wasn't there a project for recreating Alps' "complicated" actuation plates? There may be some work there that you could use? Hearsay that I remember: * Different surfaces on the bottom of blue Alps sliders compared to other Alps sliders * Softer plastic in Blue sliders compared to other Alps * Blue...

Re: Would it be possible for someone to recreate the SKCM blue alps switch?
It's on GH Reddit and keebtalk.CountNoctua wrote: ↑03 Nov 2019, 14:03I'm in, but I think we need a lot of Alps fans on board. Is the IC cross-posted elsewhere?
Planning to send a blue Alps keyboard to a prominent techtuber soon, by the way - hopefully more Alps exposure will help demand for a true modern version.
And nice.

Re: Would it be possible for someone to recreate the SKCM blue alps switch?
This time we *want* a copy of a switch. Also the fake *ealios may have been a conspiracy by Zeal and Gateron to keep a chokehold on the MX tactile switch market. Also Gateron and Zeal are getting the Chinese government involved by suing Durock so they are bad people either way. Zeal is willing to ge...

Re: NOS or very good condition Alps SKCM Blue switches.
Yes, NOS tall switchplates from SKCC/L would work great (if they aren't the sealed kind) and someone on Reddit offered to send me a few blues from a NOS board for free! So the ultimate thing now would be some NOS unsoldered switchplates I can swap into the switches so the R&D people at [REDACTED] ca...

Re: [IC] New Blue Alps Re-Creation
If I got something like QuickBooks to help me with the taxes I think I could handle it.
But the first step is to send some NOS SKCM blues off to [REDACTED] so they can evaluate the cost of them better and what they would need to do specifically to recreate them.

NOS or very good condition Alps SKCM Blue switches.
I am in need of some good specimens of Alps SKCM Blue switches to send to a switch manufacturer for evaluation (attempting to re-create them if you are not aware). What I need are several very good condition SKCM Blues, not restored but NOS. Old tall switchplate version, Preferably never soldered (i...

Re: [IC] New Blue Alps Re-Creation
Update: I have decided to go with [REDACTED]. My interest check is getting a lot of replies so I think I should continue with this.
[REDACTED] has initially quoted me around $10-15K USD to make the moulds. Would something like a Kickstarter be advisable to fund this?

[IC] New Blue Alps Re-Creation
I am running this interest check to see how much demand there would be for new Alps SKCM Blue re-creation switches. These switches would be copied as accurately as possible from original Blue Alps parts including the switchplate. I have talked with several switch manufacturers that would be willing ...

Re: Would it be possible for someone to recreate the SKCM blue alps switch?
Ok, I got replies from several manufacturers who say they will be able to do it! Durock seems to be the most likely candidate, but of course the moulds will be expensive to make. I am running an interest check to see how much demand there would be for these switches: https://forms.gle/yTruRbAyMXFCQy...

Re: Would it be possible for someone to recreate the SKCM blue alps switch?
I don't see how RGB helps gamers at all. The people who like RGB only do it because it was marketed as a high-end feature that "gaming" brands put on their more upmarket boards. Some well-done marketing can convince people to buy a board with quality switches rather than dime-a-dozen LEDs. MX stems o...

Companies I've contacted so far:
Durock
Dongguan Fosen Electronics Technology Co., Ltd.
Yueqing Anhe Electronics Co., Ltd.
Hua-Jie
Kailh
Tai-Hao
Gateron
Alps themselves.
It may be a good idea to message these companies too to show there is interest in such a switch.

I'm going to be messaging several switch companies to see if I can find one that can recreate SKCM and the estimated cost. Then we can go from there.

Matias clicky is not as good because of the polycarb housing. It's fine on the tactiles though.

Re: [GB] NOS Alps SKCM White | GB Live
Replace the click leaf from a Matias one. Matias click leaves are almost identical and a worn out click leaf adds a lot of scratch to a switch (Restoring an extremely worn out and dirty Pine White Alps board right now and can confirm with a few loose switches I've modded. Also I've found out that th...

Perhaps you could ask Tai-Hao if they would be willing to shoot you a replacement cap. It may be expensive though and I don't know if they would even agree, but hey are the only ones left with OEM profile Alps tooling.

Almost done with the PCB, going to do some final measurements on the old plate and case before sending it off.
