How are the ML switches? Also since it's low profile it doesn't really match my existing keyboards... but that is a minor concern I can't speak from personal experience, but as I understand it they are sort of like a short travel MX brown, but don't feel close enough to truly satisfy MX users. You ...

the worse shocker is that the G84-4100 typically sells for £50 in the UK (not too bad I think compared with £120+ for the typical MX switch keyboards) but a couple stores have the G84-4700 on sale for £70+. Stupid, and eBay UK is really hit & miss for Cherry products unfortunately. I'm so glad the I...

I was going to suggest the Cherry G84-4700, but it's ML keys and almost the same price as the G84-4100 compact keyboard  http://www.cherry.de/english/products/keypads_Keypad_G84-4700.htm Logitech and Microsoft both do wireless keypads, but of course they won't be mechanical switches: http://w...

So, what do you guys know about ergonomic mice and solutions for RSI? My medical qualification to comment: zero . Just trying to say that you can't expect much changes to be made to it if you just discuss them in here. Fair enough :) I see that the KBC forum has already got links here (and to geekhack + others) so at least someone is watching, and if Sixty or others can highlight this desire for other layouts ...

I think at this point it is realistic to expect that they are only shipping the US layout version and for other stuff you need big numbers and patience in terms of many months. undoubtedly, I'd expect a long wait of months if a decision were made today, but I would think it will take a while to gau...

The best place would be KBC's own forum. Well I don't agree, sorry. I think any forum discussing any given product should be able to freely highlight any shortcomings for any particular customer. We're not picking on the merits of ISO v. ANSI, it's a question of whether we can make do with the 'wro...

I believe this isn't the right place to complain about the layout... Why do you think that? if not this thread/forum, where? Surely this is the best place to dissect the relative flaws and merits of this specific product? I agree it's unlikely that the layout would change now, but the suggestion to...

Remapping the Windows key to Alt Gr is a much more promising solution... However, I still want that ISO key next to left shift, and while I'm making wishlists: why can't the right shift be the space saver style to make room for an extra button between Ctrl and Enter? Fn key could go there instead an...

I'm not sure subbing left Alt for Alt Gr would be any better - different modifiers do different things. Neither is used very frequently, but probably just enough to be inconvenient if they weren't available.

Most laser mice prefer a hard mouse pad and do not track so well on soft pads. I don't really agree with this, I've tested a few laser mice on a variety of cloth pads, comparing Philips v. Avago sensors and different surface textures. The tracking is good in most cases, and I've long ago come to th...

I looked at split keyboards and some of the industrial keypads in the past. WASD works, we get by OK but: clean design from scratch, you're making a tool to play games - would you offset the equivalent of the W key? It makes no sense to do it, as all it does for gamers is force the middle finger into a less comfortable position. If electronic keyboards were invented today, ...

Mechanical keypads, keyboards & controllers for games

After using a decent mechanical keyboard, it's quite frustrating to use cheap keyboards and controllers, so none of the gaming oriented keyboards and keypads (Logitech G13, Belkin n52te, Wolfking Warrior et al) are satisfactory. Sure there are a handful of mechanical gaming keyboards, and compact me...

USB 3.0 - interrupt protocol, lower latency for gamers?

Strictly hypothetical as I don't think there are any HID peripherals yet that use USB 3.0, and there may never be as the controllers are expensive, and bandwidth is not needed. However: Increasing the USB polling rate for lower latency can lead to erratic performance, so would it be better if future...
