Re: How to build a custom keyboard - new edition
I'm trying to convert a vintage board and it has a caps lock light, is there anyway to get that working? I believe that is possible but it has to be coded. Check here https://docs.qmk.fm/#/custom_quantum_functions?id=led-control Your best bet is to search between the keyboard examples one that has ...

Re: suggestions for /dev/tty2 ?
FYI there will be some updates in the ergodox and a few fixes here and there
yeah the constant availability of the set in the past surely will impact sales, but it's okay. I just want it to be out, I don't care how much it sells.

Re: How to build a custom keyboard - new edition
I haven't done any handwiring yet, but given the pins' offset on MX-type switches would it be reasonable to solder the row diodes directly between two switches rather than using wire? (However it would preclude your "naked wire" approach on the columns.) yes it's totally viable, I've always done th...

How to build a custom keyboard - new edition
https://cdn.matt3o.com/themes/matt3o/imgs/book-cover-small.jpg It took me a while, I started writing this guide two years ago but the first part is finally finished. This basically supersedes my previous guides I posted here on Deskthority 7 years ago (holy smokes!). If you are interested the "book...

Building TMK on Mac
I'm rewriting the TMK firmware building tutorial but I don't have access to a mac anymore and I wanted some help regarding setting up the development environment. I'm pretty sure you still need XCode, can you still install just the command line tools? Then you need the AVR Toolchain, the official on...

coronavirus set things back a little, but we are testing the side printed kit (that we never did before). It might take a few weeks but it will be up and running soon. I don't think it will be a group buy, but a just a standard sale.

Re: How to properly gets dents out of aluminum cases?
it would be very expensive to mill out the imperfections, you also need to re-anodize everything... so you would probably need to sand blast the original anodization away, fix the dents (possibly even by hand) and then anodize it back. I mean anything is possible but you'd need to find a friend/make...

what I would like is an open firmware to be able to customize the LCD under the numpad buttons and the "media dock", but that is not gonna happen and it will be the same old windows-only half-baked and never updated app
