Thank you for the correction, for some reason I thought PBT was the norm on a Model M spacebar.

IBM Model M 1391405 Spanish for 40 euro shipping included. I bought from this seller the same keyboard but much more clean for 35 euro, shipping included. Today it has been marked for shipment, my first Model M yay. Altough there is something strange, the one I bought has a yellowed space bar. Mode...

Just to speak up for the Kludge. I borrowed it from someone for a week and used it, and liked it more than the Topres I have ever tried. The programmability really makes a big difference. Oh, I am quite curious about that keyboard. How does it feel compared to Topre? What did you liked about it mor...

Holy duck, I thoguth I had like 4-5 keyboards, started counting them and realized those are more like a dozen. Waiting for my first Model M to arrive, and slowing me from buying more. I'll never have anything like a box full of keyboards, only the 2 or 3 good ones to rotate between them , they said ...

Always right with some exeptions: "cd <space> ..." "sdcv <space> ..." I have only detected these ones but there may be some more when the keys are mainly on the left side I guess. Regarding Shift, since I remapped caps lock to something random (it has not settled on something stable yet) I try to us...

My ideal pointer device would be the ball/tracking mechanism of a CST L-TRAC with the four buttons and scroll of a Kensington Slimblade. Best of two worlds and something I don't think will ever exist.

I've been afraid for months Topre being an end on the game of keyboards for me, but yesterday I fetched my Matias Quiet which was collecting dust, after I decided it was not for me long time ago. I'm currently enjoying it like a kid, such crisp and harsh feel that contrasts so much with the Topre on...

I agree with you with Topre killing MX interest. I like my Matias Quiet but its tactility feels inconsistent. BS would change the game for me but with the time being silent become a must. That's why I say there must be some Alps out there, silent but highly tactile I would enjoy, I hope I find somet...

Chyros you're right also, the thing is I've been mainly using Topre boards during last months and from time to time I need to use other keyboards so I rotate them but after some minutes of using either of them I want to come back to Topre, and that's something I dislike. I'm under the impresion ther...

Being satisfied with a single keyboard is something I wish, but that keyboard doesn't exist yet.

I was quite happy with a scissor's keyboard for almost 10 years before I entered this world, it was a decent keyboard and I was happy, quite happy.

keyboard-layout.png This is my ideal layout. Basically a pure ISO layout with the three extra modifiers from a JIS layout which I use extensively. The bottom row exact position of keys may not be exactly the perfect one as I would have to test it to adjust the modifiers a bit. Function key triggers...

For me a 60% is the best option right now. While touch typing there is nothing more annoying than losing track to the f/j keys. I already use the numeric keys on the upper side so the numeric right side has no use for me. Later I moved the middle column to the main keyboard with the help of a modifi...

Why on Earth would one get an HHKB and want to avoid using the HHKB layout? O_o I came from a TKL JIS Realforce. Moving to HHKB (which had to be JIS of course) allows me to get rid of the middle keyboard columd (easier to move to the pointer device), and forced me to seriously use cursor/pgup/pgdow...

You can actually get a HHKB in JIS layout, which is somewhat more like ISO: http://i.imgur.com/B15wG.jpg You'd probably like this one a bit more since the bottom row is a bit less "wasteful"! That's the reason I bought the one that appeared here a couple of months ago. I couldn't work with a standa...

So don't exspect to be as fast as possible
You can adjust the scroll distance movement on your OS. Doing that I could scroll quite large distances with my Slimblade.

Oh, yeah. Basically, 4 screws hold the case together and the ball is just resting on the rollers. Probably a 5 minute process, as long as you're careful not to let any parts fall out by opening it upside down :) Sweet. Is it a regular size for a normal pool ball? I bought a used pool ball two days ...

I am sad not to use a RF 55g but instead the 45g one. The former has a great feeling but the later makes me make less errors when touch typing. Even after using exclusively the 55g for months and not using at all the 45g, when coming back to the 45 I do make less errors almost instantly. Neither my ...

The CST-LTRAC vs Slimblade must be something subjective for sure, anyway you can't fail with a Slimblade.

I've used three different trackballs, all fingertip. I discarded from the start thumb ones as I always read those cause more fatigue. The first trackball I used was a Kensington Orbit wireless with a small ball. Afterwards got a Slimblade. Leasson learned, the bigger the ball the better, it is easie...
