Thanks! Yes they look like and clearly have been commissioned by DIATEC - finally. The FILCO should really ship with these keycaps. Shall be getting a set but would like to scout around for a better price. I hate paying 'retail'.

Filco double shots? Opinions sought...

Hello chaps, I saw these today: http://www.keyboardco.com/product/double-shot-filco-105-key-uk-keyset.asp Only on the screen. They look rather nice but at £46 inc VAT the price is classic KeyBoardCo. I find their products £££. What do others think? Any ideas on who is supplying them? Perhaps I could...

Thanks 002. I'm ordering two 87 55g units. One to keep and one to sell. I'll be selling the non-keeper for £162 + postage worldwide, and of course, pickup from my home in London is welcome. I realise this is an edgy price but its a still a saving from Keyboard Co's £192 + postage of £6! PM or I'll e...

Soldering iron -

Hello chaps, I'd like a soldering iron - but the options are far and wide. I like Antex as a brand - but unsure of what wattage to go for. Do such items come in variable wattages? Mainly I'll be doing small home electrical stuff, I very much doubt I'll be desoldering and soldering my KBs, although m...

Hi, where is the best place in AU to purchase either Realforce or HHKB?

Thanks.

London based DT geek - able to help with a switch swap out/

Evening chaps, My FILCO numpad is causing me issues, I think the decimal point switch is not working. The others are ok, but it behaves erratically at best. Therefore I wonder whether anyone on this forum could lend a hand in repairing it, by switching out the bad switch. I'm London based and happy ...

I think its possible... have a look on Amazon UK. Do you like ISO? I think ANSI is actually far better for me these days, but the switch back only take a few hours. If you have a Poker II or similar, I have been able to remap the keys to give an almost HHKB layout. You'll have to look on the 'otherw...

Hi Mu, its been a while. The HHKB is actually fairly reasonable on Amazon. Its a premium status symbol item and at just under £200, It think its not bad at all. Plus it always holds its value in the event of a resale. I preserved with the HHKB and have not looked back. It took some time but now I ap...

Real force Boards are CHEAP in Australia...!

Dear all, I have an Australian connection, my wife is from there. This Xmas I'll be meeting the MIL in Dubai, she'll be flying in from AU. Perhaps I'll ask her to bring over two RF 87 KBs for me. One to keep and one to sell. The wonderful KeyboardCo are selling the same UNIT for £192 incl VAT, but n...

The Poker II IS STILL great and easily fits the HHKB layout via KARABINER and some nifty XML settings. I use this set up as my travel board and while its not perfect, it mimics the HHKB enough to keep me happy. It gives the Poker II the same cursor set up.

Thanks to both - yes I love it too, the ISO set up is rare, you are right, and this makes it a pain when entering GPs, but I try not to spend too much on such things now. I'd recommend you for a US layout... I went for the UK and now cannot participant in group buys, most of the stuff does not cater for us ISO users. A shame really but this is how things are.

I won't be making the same mistake again.

Re: KBC/ Vortex Poker II

My initial thoughts are above and haven't really changed at all. I love this board. See the first post of this thread.

Order some o-rings now as they make all the difference. I have some 50s knocking about so used them. They reduce the travel by 0.4mm.

Do you mean the Poker review or the HHKB? I'm still in love with the former. I opted for Browns and have fitted o-rings. It's pure silk. I'll do a video soon.

Thanks for your kind words. It was just a quick write up. I intend to do a fuller write up shortly. I also have a HHKB now so will do a comparison, perhaps a written one to start with when I find some spare time, and then, if I am feeling brave, I'll do my first ever YouTube video.

Re: Poker 2

I've ordered this kb from the group buy over at geekhack. It should arrive on Tuesday. I was planning on the filco MINILA but like so many have said, the layout is terrible. The fc660 is damn expensive in my humble opinion. As a newbie I think the hhk2 is over hyped. It's an exclusive thing, surely?
