Re: Old terminal keyboard, 1984

Joli clavier ;) HiTek Stackpoles are usually disliked from what I seem to read, but this is a nice collection piece. I saw some french so I had to do some digging to figure out what these were used for. I had a lot of trouble finding "TIJ", but it seems to have been renamed to Proxes France since th...

I put in several bids and it's now over $100. asking because I've never been able to answering this question, why would you bid so early ...

Re: 5000 AZERTY Keyboards NOS

You made it clear, but you didn't provide any ressources for us to fill in the blanks. What carrier do you want to get the keyboards shipped out with ? DHL ? Hermes ? UPS ? like I said, if you say "calculate your own shipping, I will be using DHL", it's much easier than to end up with 30 shipments ...

what the fuck.

shock aside, these are NMB Space Invaders, no clue on the variety of them but they sure are worth saving.

How much does he want for the 5000 (are you sure he didn't put a few too many zeroes??) keyboards?

Re: Glorious GMMK Pro review (Glorious Pandas)

This goes for several other DT members as well. Truth be told, I stopped caring about DT a long time ago. I never really read it anymore because it's all drama. Arh, I don't think that's entirely fair. I learn a lot from people here, and most of them seem genuinely helpful. Don't you think that's i...

Re: Glorious GMMK Pro review (Glorious Pandas)

Ok, it's 25-years old shitty music. Sorry! And stick to MX style of switches, don't tell me now that Silo or Hall Effect is MX platform just because vendors pitied your keycaps "investments" and thought of throwing you a bone. Click Leaves?? As in Alps-invented ones or which ones you mean? HAHAHAHA...

Re: Glorious GMMK Pro review (Glorious Pandas)

I mean... the fact that you like shitty music doesn't change the fact that the music is... shitty. Objectively speaking. There's a reason why the entire French rap didn't get as many awards as Beatles, for example :) If they won a lot of awards it's because a lot of people love them, not because th...

Re: Glorious GMMK Pro review (Glorious Pandas)

So when modern people review vintage stuff is silly but the other way around is not ? I don't get it man I didn't say that. I said that I would not expect those channels to nail a vintage keyboard video in the way that I feel Chyros often does, just as I wouldn't expect Chyros to nail a modern keyb...

Have you read his comments ? Yes. I meant the comment section but w/e, my bad they are filled with people that praise him on the basis of his videos, which misrepresent a lot of the stuff he mentions. This is their problem more than his, as far as I'm concerned. One cannot be held responsible for t...

Re: Glorious GMMK Pro review (Glorious Pandas)

Forgive me but Chyros openly refers to himself as a curmugeonly old dinosaur in his videos and consistently lays his biases on the table, in my opinion. That's more than enough for me. I wouldn't take any one review as gospel, regardless, and to claim that any reviewer has a "responsibility" to pre...

good god, that is by far the worst video you've made, I usually don't like them for a few different reasons but this one takes the cake. @ 9:12 ... now to me making your keyboard a fraction bouncier sounds like one of the most pointless things anyone ever came up with. Seriously guys, if plate bounc...

the site gives you the 19.05mm grid
I want to specify that this is by default, you can tweak it for it to give you a smaller or bigger grid.

Re: IFo's Keyboard Design Tips & Tricks Thread

- The cutout in a plate, for an MX type switch is a 14mm square, with stabilized keys and cutouts that allow you to open the switch without having to de-solder it (for non-hotswap boards) being the exception. that is simply not true, the 14mm cutout does not allow you to open the switch without hav...

Re: Blue Alps?

Based on what I've heard throughout the vintage keyboard enthusiast community, this is a difficult question to answer as the answer in question varies a lot based on certain factors, which, as I might add, are pretty much completely random, but I encourage more knowledgable people than myself to tr...

  1. I did not expect a small label on the back of this keyboard, I'm starting to think the small labels are related to production size
I'm still think it's typical for 1800 B date code
Spoiler:

it's an old Cherry G80 [...] it has no Cherry markings on it. don't think it's quite Cherry then, is it ? you're definitely right; it's got a mounting plate – steel even. No way a genuine Cherry MX board would have build quality as good as that :p Haha , I get you , Cherry could never use a plate ....
