The warm LEDs with those keycaps is a subtle mix.

With translucent keycaps, you're entering the gimmick zone.

The light strips idea is very nice, even if they don't align correctly. I tried to create a hand-wired RGB keyboard (https://imgur.com/a/g5kuz) and it was crazy difficult, with a mixed result (fleaky connections, 32mm tall case, sigh).
