Got it all cleaned up, thanks to the power of baking soda! Gonna use the OG plate with an Alps64.

Swapped my SKCM Amber's into my Zenith 163-73 and put its blues into the V60 :) Found someone who is willing to swap Amber for Blue 1:1 so I will have a fully Amber Zenith soon ;) They are amazing in this chassis, Ambers are the most chassis dependent switch I've ever laid my hands upon. Bad build q...

And the last info. Switchplates are long(?) and white and top housing has markings "X" and "5P", no logo. IMG_20180128_182118.jpg IMG_20180128_182105~2.jpg The slider is also way lighter color than the loose one I have laying around. The loose one says "F" and "36" and has a gray switchplate. Yes t...

I'm curious to know what you think about plate springs, I have tried out one of the IBM laptops with plate springs and thought it was too odd feeling to use. It has the same issue that all plate springs seem to have which is the up stroke is louder and snappier then the down stroke. It reminds me o...

With the PCB being more solid and there being less flex the sound has also changed. The click is crisper and more pronounced, sounds fantastic imo

What I've never understood, is why Cherry can't have more stand-offs for the PCB. That PCB flexes a surprising amount, even worse than I saw with my G80-3000. I'll have to listen again later when I have better sound playback, but I do wonder if the sound is impaired by having a wobbly PCB. As an up...

You remind me of those old guys, who can design and manufacture hot rods. Old styled cars with blown out engines and transmissions. Beautiful to behold and of course very much worshiped when finished, even winning prizes throughout the Car Show circuit. Keep the ALPs spirit alive and you've done th...

The Alps Plate Spring G80-1000
So just completed my latest project! ;) The APS G80-1000! Sounds weird right? Cherry and Alps together?! :o But it works. This project aims to re-case the IBM P70, as its case frankly sucks. Flimsy and flat, made as a side panel for the IBM P70. I chose to use the G80-1000 since its a pcb mount case...

WOWWWW! That thing is crazy! 12KC513B PCB code sounds a lot like normal SKCM/SKCL PCB codes, specifically the "KC" part. Curved PCB and mounting plate is :o You don't need to desolder a switch to open it up, at least with normal SKCM/SKCL switches. Looks like you can here as well. Super curious to s...

That makes sense. The keyboard is a '93 IBM made one so it fit's into the timeline. This is a '93 Model M? But it's obviously the inner assembly from one M, put in one of Unicomp's surplus blue-logo Industrial cases (the only blue-logo Industrial anything, AFAIK)—and with the original keys replaced...

Yeah, I think integrated domes is likely. Depending on what kind of switches are on it, I might use them to build a Planck or let's split. I might also try to convert it into a hand wired custom keyboard. I got an S-66 for $10 on craigslist. Integrated dome w/ 3 SKCL Green LED's. Alps spherical cap...

The material lab has successfully analyzed the springs and the material is now confirmed! The US spring manufacturer and I were quite off with the material selection for the first samples which may have caused them to sound "off." I expect to order another round of samples with the confirmed materi...

Hello All, Wondering if anyone who owns a Griffin iMate can comment on its behavior in a few scenarios: What does the power switch on the keyboard (top right key on an AEK) do if used with Windows versus Mac? Does the "numpad equal" do anything when using the converter with Windows versus Mac? Does...
