Re: Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?
You can reprogram them with Changeme running under 32 bit Win 10,and you can do that while booting from a flash drive. As far as the controller goes if it's anything like my Tipro made Cherry RC128BM the controller is soldered to the same pcb as the switches,I've been tempted to pull the pcb entirel...

Re: Diy tkl keyboard!
I have solderin equipement i just want help with diy kit that fits cream switches and is not that expensive Simplest answer is the GMMK tkl which can be ordered without switches and fits the switches you want,it's also hot swap so no soldering needed, downside is that the software to program it is a...

Copy/paste of my first post on the site- First off I want to thank you all for the sheer mass of info on this site,it has helped a lot. Secondly regarding the subject- I spent a good chunk of today swearing up a storm trying to find a copy of Xp to run the Cherry Tools so I could program the board,I...

I used MX Blacks for a few months on my RC128BM,I disliked them enough that I desoldered them and replaced them with blues, they weren't sandpapery though, just way too stiff.

Same seller also has RC80B's in stock, you will need a 32 bit copy of Win10,a PS/2 port, and Tipro's Changme software to program both boards.

No clue about the keyboard, but that Hirschmann MES 160 is an unusual choice.

Programming the PS/2 Tipros is a bit of a pain,I documented the method I used in my first post here- viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18949 , it's annoying but it works,I keep an old mini itx box with 32 bit Win 10 on it for when I need to redo mine.

You could mount the two halves of a Quefrency together in a single plate and get a 65% with 10 macro keys on the left side.

Looks nice! If I had one of these, I probably wouldn't even have considered building my own keyboard. Only problem is availability, and also the win 32bit only support for changeme. When I first had the idea of using tipro MID boards as a split keyboard config, I was looking for 64 keys modules, bu...

Given that I use a split board and have my mouse in the middle I'm going to go with right index finger as reaching over my numpad and mouse with my left hand would be annoying.

Would something like half a Levinson from Keeb.io work? You could easily solder leads to the right place on the board instead of using a Pro Micro.

Hmm, that's a point, I wonder if there's such a thing as a minimum-height, non-moving MX-compatible keycap that can be used to replace those stupid Windows keys and return the useful hand-positioning gaps for those of us who don't touch-type? I'm not even sure what to search for. :/ You're looking ...

Yup,I use an MX Black with the spring cut by a third as the second switch for the 2u POS caps on my BFO-9000, you could use 2 MX Reds so that you can use each individually if you find the need.

Every time I see some one figure out how these old boards work the more I'm convinced the designers were competing to make the most complexly idiotic design just to screw with the competition.
