Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

Fokus FK-8000 without the calculator, but wow, what a beautiful colour scheme. I suspect ALPS clones at best as it's a later model and doesn't have LED windows (which might have pointed to at least some SKCL switches).

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

It is quite rare in black, maybe one in twenty or less. I have one, too, and plan to swap the case with the yellowed beige case of one with nicer switches.

Feel free to update that wiki! 👍💪

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

Siemens board with Siemens switches. The switches can be found in the wiki but not many of this family of keyboards are documented.

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

I've been on a bit of a wild goose chase for the past few weeks trying to identify a much beloved keyboard of mine that I miss dearly. I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help point me in the right direction. EDIT: I forgot to mention, but the label that can be seen on the keyboard says "...

Here is some french auction that I cannot identify :
It supposed to be a Nixdorf keyboard. All the pictures are from the same board.
It's a Fujitsu-made terminal keyboard, should have leaf springs, I reckon.

Re: German shop selling ergonomic keyboards

Sorry for the necroesque post. I bought a Kinesis Freestyle from these people years ago and they sell a wide range of ergo boards. Not sure what their 'shop' (if any) has on offer, though.

[done] Free pickup of 30+ vintage / mechanical keyboards in 34246 Germany

User diseeease has vouched to collect the lot. Thank you for all the PMs. Giving away the boards I suspect I will always be too lazy to sell separately but that I feel are still too valuable to take to the recycler. The majority of these are mechanical, but don't expect to find any particular jewel...

Beautiful! Shame about that keycap. What's the condition of the switches?

Re: Cherry G80-0776 find

I wouldn't want to seem too trivial, but how much did you pay for such a beauty monster? It didn't come cheap but I paid a good deal less than the 300-500€ someone ("a student") told him it was worth. It's very hard to tell what these quasi-unicornlike things really are worth. If I could convert it...

Found it in Hannover right? I actually met the guy and bought a G80 HAD 1988 from him that day.
No longer sure where the guy was from, but it was likely him.

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

This pile (slightly different pics in eBay auction) went to someone for almost 60€. Not sure if it was a great deal. I can see one really beaten up Wyse board, a very yellowed board with space invaders and at least one keycap missing (the 'Columbia'-branded one could be another Hi-Tek?), one Cherry...

Re: Cherry G80-0776 find

Yeah, larger bottom row on ergo keyboards is definitely a thing (MS, Logitech, Apple Adjustable as you pointed out, X-bows, ...) but a 'gap'? (unless you mean Kinesis / Maltron / Ergodox with separate thumb key clusters). And yeah, it probably wasn't the spacebar / layout that annoyed him. The large...

Re: Cherry G80-0776 find

I couldn't swear I'd seen it anywhere before though I have a lurking feeling that I did. However, there was a trend in the nineties to give keyboards deeper curved spacebars, which makes ergonomic sense. The Matias Ergo Pro takes this a step further by making the entire bottom row extra deep. I also...

Re: Cherry G80-0776 find

Please note the breathing holes for small vertebrates, plus the board can easily double as an insect hotel! Even more interestingly, the location of the spacebar is extremely relaxing as it does not force your long fingers to curve as much as the now standard position does. It really feels much bett...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Okay, here I go with my usual rant: Mitsumi Miniature are actually excellent tactile switches. The problem is that the metal used at the top of the switch casing corrodes over time and causes the movement of the slider to become very sticky. All you have to do is to smear / spray the switch top with...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

"Made in Mexico" is rarely a good sign in my experience. I've usually found more recent 'Maxi Switch' keyboards from there (often with Honeywell-branding?). And apparently Key Tronic is another domey-/membraney Mexico outsourcer. I'm sure some amigo will contradict me with a great catch from down th...
