These cheapy mini cloths that are always bundeled with even cheaper screen protectors could actually work quite well i guess.vinzbe wrote: ↑Indeed. This would allow to reduce the cost of the foam
EDIT: More seriously, any thoughts on using microfiber instead?

And this post is written from my now 45gr RF.Verdict: It was easier than I feared. There had to be some changes made to the old Novatouch rubber dome sheet.' The distance between the number row and the F-row is smaller on the Novatouch, so these areas had to be separated The distance between the alp...

Okay, short update. I am typing this post from a 55 gram Novatouch now, and it feels quite a lot more crisp than before. The rubber dome sheet from the Topre fit without having to adjust anything, which will not be the case for the other way round. After putting it back together, EK Switch Hitter re...

Sorry to revive an old thread like this, but since I now own a Novatouch aswell, I was wondering if anyone tried modding it to 55gr yet? I am quite temped to do that, since I prefer the weight of the 55gr domes, but I dont know if its possible. It should be since they are both ANSI and all that, but...

When fitting some metal keycaps to normal Cherry switches I used a piece of normal transparent foil, like from a document sleeve for example. You could try that, and if a piece rips of, it wont glue the switch up, since there is no glue involved. It does take a few tries to get it correctly position...

I added some lines to your picture. Green is how it should be, the wire is correctly seated. If you compare that to the red line, you can see that the wire is lower and its not hooked into the black plastic housing. Normally its a fix that takes no more than a few seconds but its sorta hard to descr...

The stabilizer wire is not correctly seated in the right stabilizer-holder thing (has it got another name, I don't know..), just compare how the wire is clicked into place on the left black thing, it should be done the same way on the right. EDIT: The stem that slots into the spacebar has a hole whe...

Small update: I've had my 55gr Topre for a week now and I think I am at the point of really getting used to it right now. I still do the occasional "I'm used to DE-ISO and this keyboard is US-ANSI" mistake, but from the overall typing experience it is great. The price is rather steep, but if this ke...

Dolch PBTs, eh? That would be interesting: the Dolch colour scheme, with light legends, requires doubleshot! Doubleshot PBT is, apparently, on the cusp of turning mainstream. I'd love to see some! But in the meantime Dolch is ABS. @Hyper: Just kidding around with you. The number of boards I've gath...

At first, I liked the more solid and weighty feel of the 55g steel plate-mounted RF as compared to my HHKB with its plastic case-mounted 45g switches. However, after more use of each board in actual work tasks, I am leaning toward the feel of the HHKB; the RF is beginning to feel a bit too heavy. H...

I think here it is 20% of the price including the shipping to the EU, which is why I also try to avoid ordering stuff from the US when I can. Also the last time I did order something from the US, I noticed when I got the parcel, that it had been laying there for about a month before I was even notif...

Oh btw, I received a letter from Fedex yesterday concerning the custom charge. So in the end it wasn't that much cheaper than from KC. :D Oh, when I went over the customs limit, I had to go pick up my package from the office myself and pay the taxes there. But concerning ISO-DE to ANSI: Once I star...

My 55g Realforce just arrived too. First impression: The difference to the 45g switches I tried is bigger than I expected it to be but I like it.
