Well, obviously the Raspberry Pi 400 already has a keyboard. So it makes more sense to use a regular Raspberry Pi without an enclosure or peripherals.

I await the first Cherry Pi.
rpi400 is easier to fit into a keyboard due to the form factor

Re: Keyboards should include 8-bit computers in them

Here shot_1608622786.jpg The keyboard is just a USB HID, remove it and build your own enclosure with cherrymx or whatever and a screen if you want. Added bonus GPIO. That being said I agree with Findecanor that most of MCU we use today inside keyboards are more than capable of doing anything and mor...

Plans for the present and the future

So first of all. No DT Awards this year, you probably have noticed by now. It's a pity because this is an important DT anniversary, but it is what it is. Fuck 2020. What next? I'll finally be removing phpbb (current forum software) and move to nodebb (unless something better comes out in the coming ...

Re: Advice on retrobrighting

Here in Germany a 12% solution is the highest concentration you can get check ebay on other European countries. 35% peroxide is pretty common and cheap here (Italy). It is used to bleach wood (check your local hardware/paint/carpentry stores they might have it). 35% is pretty strong though, you may...

Re: Advice on retrobrighting

you may try to remove the sticker with limonene or some light solvent but it's a long and tedious process. Your "luck" is that it is starting to peel off already so you can start from there. if you don't use strong peroxide and you don't brush it the sticker might even survive the retrobrighting but...

I tried with 2x3u, also changed the first mod from 1u to 1.5u.

I believe I like the original better... but I could live with this version too.

yeah it took forever for no reason... well, expect covid I guess... but everything was ready (colors, legends...). The only thing that needed testing was the side-print. But I haven't got prototypes of that, so who knows how it will go

I think I could do with a 3u+3u spacebar. I find the button between the spacebars just a filler

I believe both the PCB and the plate have to be custom made. Any 60% case could be used though.

yeah, only problem being 4u availability, but MT3 has it... so.... :D

An HHKB with a twist, suggestions?

I'm working on this project lately, not sure if something similar already exists sweet60.jpg It's close to a HHKB with a split spacebar and an arrow cluster. The 2 spacebars are 2.25u+4u (I'd use the small one for FN). I really like the "floating" switches case but that limits the layout options. Go...

Pruning of unused accounts

You probably noticed quite some spam in the last few hours. I made the registration process a little more complicated and deleted all weird unused old accounts (a lot of them).

It is possible that some legit accounts got deleted in the process. I'm sorry about that.

you really need to get better resin though :) Aw. Any suggestions!? This one worked pretty well. you may try with ABS-like resins or technical resins usually called "engineering" or "tough". I used FunToDo Industrial blend with some degree of success. Harzab Model is also decent. Let me know if you...

Pretty sure there are too many requests like that but I'd love an MT3 set based on the Symbolics 364000.
I really like that colorway, problem being color matching. The manufacturer is incredibly bad at that.

Re: so... ARM on your next computer

ARM is a much more simple design ( as its RISC) than the older CISC ways of doing things like x86 and AMD64, it should be the way things are going. while that was true at the beginning now RISC has become way more complicated and CISC made things simpler and mitigated the gap. Actually the two arch...
