Right, the STAB200 I ordered are for a different project. Thanks.

Yep. With ‘short shifts’ everything except the SPH 2u Return fits perfectly. But my stubby fingers can't handle ISO layouts.

Yes that is what I said =) This thing is already holier than the Vatican during a meteor shower. I don't think a few more holes will compromise the structural integrity (any more..). Excellent! Would it be possible to order a pair of plates like this? - ANSI return - "reverse" left shift split, and...

Sure, use the biggest tip.

The arrows actually I love, I only swapped up/down to down/up to match JK in vi. I've used Kineses and vi for ages… and never noticed that. I wonder how crazy it will drive me to swap them now. You can also get a footswitch to shift with your foot, I've done it and it's a big relief on the pinky fi...

Not a dumpster, more like a bin with wheels in my University (of Waterloo). Oh, I see. For a long time Central Stores had a dumpster outside that often contained interesting things. Sadly they removed it (or moved it inside) a few years ago. The ribbon cable puts this in the 'early half' of Volker-...

It's from a Volker-Craig terminal. They used to be very common here. I don't recognize the specific model, but it seemed there were hundreds of variations with no two alike, anyway. In my experience their keyboards were pretty awful, taking a lot of force to get started and bottoming out hard, and p...

Pah, you don't even know what those metric symbols mean on that fluke. Don't you measure in Imperial eel electromotive force or something? We in the British Empire and former Colonies and Dominions measure potential difference in (tons per Faraday)(miles per hour)², which grants us a vastly better ...

You'll also need to add the surface-mount current limiting resistors. I don't recall whether you'll have to pull the switches to get at the pads.

For all of them, plus return, It's not the size, it's the position. Even 1x keys would be fine if they weren't displaced further away from the home position by extra keys.

ISO 9241-4 says "The key displacement shall be between 1,5mm and 6,0mm. The preferred key displacement should be between 2,0mm and 4,0mm." The ISO key travel recommendations seem to be derived from a 1969 paper that recommended travel between 0.05 inches (1.3mm) and 0.25 inches (6.4mm): Kinkead, R. ...

In the early '80s, the German bureaucracy proclaimed in DIN 66-234 (later ISO 9241-4) that a keyboard shall be no thicker than 35mm at the home row. No IBM Selectrics or beam springs need apply.
