Spy does not resume

I just paused the spy and when I pressed play again nothing happened. Reloading the spy page showed several new posts. Is that the intended behavior? Is it supposed to drop posts when pausing instead of caching them?

The way FaceBook does it I would expect to see some item "and x new posts" pop up at the top, but maybe it's still a bug.

I find Facebook to be a bit more active.

I'll post this here because it concerns the spy:

Did it just become shorter?

It's sort of a bug, bug by design. It only shows topics from the last 200 or 250 posts, for speed reasons. This is usually more than enough to fill the spy. There were so many posts in "geekhack hacked again?" last night that this doesn't work at the moment and there are not enough unique topics in those 250 posts to fill the spy. It will fix itself. I might rewrite that code at some point.

I'm still having sporadic problems with the spy not updating anymore. I think if the network connection is lost and jquery stops retrying a little notification would be nice.

Yes it stops after 3 failed polls. I haven't had time yet to make it more intelligent.
