I stumbled across this site whilst I was searching into microswitches.
Indeed very interesting, especially his custom microswitch peripherals.

Tim Tyler and his keyboard station of doom.

From a technical standpoint very interesting, but I wish he would clean that thing more often, it looks nasty.

Indeed, they are disgusting. I should've included a "viewer discretion advised"
However, his microswitch keyboard is quite cool.

Looks like an early version of the Kinesis Advantage. The thumb clusters look identical...

It's a Kinesis Contoured. You can still get those on ebay. They are a great cheap alternative to the Advantage they just don't have USB and I think they are not programmable. You can do both things better with a Teensy. :p

I really don't get it why he needs a billion keys. Keeping them all memorized must be a bitch.

I love billions of keys to program phrases and makros etc. And you could place your own text under the transparent top of the keycap. But I will never accept that dirt... it is really disgusting (as guilleguillaume said before).

Yes, really disgusting, but beautiful for a piece of shit.

Perspectives... :P

Info:
I have just tried to clean some old keycaps with dishwasher powder and hot water. Seems to work very good. No need to buy extra dental tabs.

I use some 200 keys of my keyboard on an everyday basis and some 20 more when dealing with a particular task. Memorizing them isn't that difficult, even if of course using those extra keys is not plain touchtyping.
In any case, pressing a single key for, say, Ctrl+F6 is easier than using both hands or the mouse.
