So I've been tinkering with the KC60 sample unit since I got it to review. I haven't had quite as much time as I'd like to dedicate to finishing off the guides, but I'll include what I have so far. The programming guide still needs the most work. Originally the manufacturer wanted to use the TKG toolkit as the "offical" firmware updater, but they didn't have permission. They have created their own alternative, which I have, though most of the instructions are in Chinese so it's taking me a bit of time to get a good guide finished. Should you have any questions or have something that should be added just let me know.
Essentially, this is a GH60.

Thanks for this. I finally got the programming to work on the KC60. The most confusing part for me was figuring out which option to choose for the Fn key. Essentially, I need only two layers, the default and a Fn layer so that I can mimic the HHKB layout. It would be helpful to have an expanded guide that clarifies the Fn key options.
Now that I have sorted out the programming, I would like to see the same kind of programmable PCB with other switch options, such as Matias and purple Zealio. Cherry mx and most of its clones are my least favorite types of switches.

Good morning,
I would like to add given my own experience and from what i can read on the massdrop discussion thread about kc60, this product is weak.
I received mine like 6 months ago, i use it daily at work, put a Tex aluminium case, have a solid transport box, and a dedicated usb cable with gold connector. I lost yesterday all my key of the left column (esc/tab/caps/shift/ctrl).
It seems i'm not the only one to suffer such issue with this model.
All i hope is to get a replacement from Massdrop or at least a refund.
At least you can see some picture of the setup here : http://imgur.com/a/V7PbC/

So the quality is not quite there? I almost bought one when they first hit massdrop. Decided to pass and see the reviews but not very many turned up.netmonk wrote: ↑Good morning,

I think livingspeedbump reported very positively on this keyboard but then again, I don't think he used it as a daily driver.

Yeah, I had a pre production version, and pointed out what little things wrong I found with it. Sadly it looks like that may have ended up being the final version. I never actually got a "retail" version either. On paper, the keyboard is a great buy with great features, but little issues here and there in the version that shipped really just made it annoying for most people which is a shame.shreebles wrote: ↑I think livingspeedbump reported very positively on this keyboard but then again, I don't think he used it as a daily driver.
Oh, and they changed the correct "Backspace" key on the prototype to "Backpase" or something on the final

Yeah, after seeing how the final version turned out, I would sadly recommend not buying this product right now.Magna224 wrote: ↑So the quality is not quite there? well, what would you recommand to have same functionnality on 60% ?
Beside Poker, is there any assembled gh60 somewhere ? (im nof a solderer)
And btw im not blaming anybody, i really enjoyed this keyboard so far, and it helped me to convert almost 10 of my co worker to mechanical keyboard (all affiliate on massdrop to buy poker).
But i don't have any feeling with the poker.
In fact i had to bring from home my Tex yoda and finally i find it better with touch than the kc60 even with the same brown mx switches than kc60.
It's too bad TEX stopped their production, i would have bought a Beetle for work.

Where are you located? I can help with soldering. You can buy assembled 60% keyboards from Korea, but for top $$$
GH60/Satan Gh60 can be built for really cheap.

Nice, otherwise you can try aliexpress or even eBay. Yes, I've seen the Gh60 Satan for 35€ shipped in the bay.netmonk wrote: ↑Im in France, and i saw lot of pcb gh60 on alibaba.
Will try to find a taobao shop with the help of my chinese wife.
Scottc: That must be new, I didn't know he also did GH60s. But then you have no ISO option.
EDIT: Or maybe you do? Rev C looks like it supports ISO. I am getting confused. KC60 has no ISO option. GH60 Satan does for sure. GH60 rev C, probably. I'm losing track. I am new to this 60% world after all, sorry!

Shoot czarek a PM. I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping you out. I know for some ergodoxes people asked 7bit to send switches to czarek who assembled them.

Also, found a good answer on Reddit that answered my questions about programmability, and difference from Pok3r.
