Model M 122 Type 2 dead PCB

Hi.

After cleaning and modding my brand very old 85's 122 Type II, I was using the keyboard when, suddenly, the USB port of the arduino just fell apart, detaching itself from the board. After that, all what I have from another soarer is a R05 everytime I press a key. So... something must be fried inside the 122's PCB.

There are 4 chips. 3 are very common, but I can't find online the large one -1391332 528606 QL JH88747 ZC93902P (6805)- (http://kbdbabel.org/schematic/kbdbabel_ ... 97_kbd.pdf).

The other path to bring the keyboard alive is to try one of those Model H PCBs, but I don't know if they are compatible with the 122s.

Any one knows where to look for the 6805 chip or if the Model H is compatible with this model?

Thanks.

That's a 1987, not a 1985. I was a little confused when you said 1985 Type II because AFAIK they didn't make the Type II that early. I don't know how much you use the keyboard, but I am a Type I nut and I have four type Is and a fifth on order primarily for parts. (and a cracked case one I have sitting in my dining room waiting for the seller to discuss how we are going to manage shipping damage). If I were you, I'd just go looking for another board, and keep a few around for parts.

Also, IMHO, the Type I is a much better board because you can set it at a much nicer, more typewriter-esque angle that I personally find comfortable. Inicidentally, the only reason I am not typing to you on a M122 Type I is because I am using an F122; my other computer layouts use M122 type Is.

The Model H (I have one sitting in a draw but it not compatible with either my M122s, my F122 or my early 1391401s). Its supposed to be universal, but it doesn't work with a 1391401 so... I have no idea what its useful for.

Hi.

Yeah, that's a 87, not 85, my bad.

The weird thing is that I've another board (from another Type II) and I get the same result. 3 different arduino boards, two different 122's boards, R05s on every keystroke. So... kind of confused right now. I'll double check everything again.

Tried with modes 1,2 and 3 (2 and 3 are full of R06s)

thanks

Hi.

I'm a disgrace, to myself and to anyone who reads this. It turns out that—for some stupid reason—the date and clock were crossed. I think it's time to start wearing the glasses my wife gave me for my birthday.

Sorry :) Let's pretend nothing happened.

BTW (both boards are working as expected)
