Help with TMK

1. Is there a good source that explains all the options in the TMK Editor and how they work?

2. For example, I'm trying to program the space bar so that when tapped it gives a space, but when held, it acts as a shift. Would it be correct to do this by using Action_Mods_Key, or Action_Mods_Tap_Key?

3. To do the same with a layer change--activating a specific layer when a key is held--would you use Action_Layer_Momentary? Would that then preserve the original function of the key when tapped?

4. Is there a way to assign a combination of keys to a single key press, such as Ctrl and Shift, or Ctrl Shift and Fn? This would be useful in selecting text via the arrows without having to press four keys simultaneously.
