IBM "industrial" Model F

I have what I'm assuming is an "industrial" Model F because of the casing color. Its the same darker grey color that other IBM "industrial" model keyboards were manufactured in. The only thing is this one uses Oak FTM-CR switches instead of the normal capacitive buckling spring switches that most model F's have. I don't really care for the way these switches feel, I'd much rather the CBS switches that one would normally associate with a Model F.

Now my question. is it possible to swap in a CBS internals into this case? or would that be frowned upon or not possible?

Here are some pictures. The is/was in pretty good condition when I got it. It was rather dirty and I gave it a quick clean before snapping these photographs but it still needs a more detailed cleaning.

As I understand it, the cases are not compatible with each other. I believe this is to do with the nature in which the inner assemblies are mounted.

The model f assembly is curved while the indy is flat. You will need to use the model f backplate and widen the hole for the bottom row. The fit for the bottom row is very tight otherwise. There is a post here about it, but I cannot find it right now.

thanks for the link. Its interesting that they made a completely different style for this XT instead of keeping it the same but changing the color like with the Model M.

I just have to finish cleaning it and put it back to gather. and usb use it as is.
