I went to Digikey and Mauser and I'm guessing I couldn't come up with the right search terms. I tried "membrane connector" and "ribbon connector." and got nothing. So I know that they are 16, 20 or somethings 8 & 4 pins and I haven't measured it but it looks like the pitch is .1 of an inch.

Your best bet would be to just get them off of an existing model M controller, ideally one that doesn't work. You may be able to get one for the cost of shipping if another member has one. I think all my model M controllers work though.

You need Triomate connectors with 0.1'' (2.54 mm) pitch.
Regular Model M 101/102: 16 pin (p/n 6-520315-6 or 6-520415-6), 8 pin and 4 pin for LED panel. Later models use single 12 pin socket for keys and LED panel.
M-122: 20 pin + 8 pin.
Pay attention to positioning them properly before soldering.
