Key replacement for Choc Mini

Hello Folks,

since iam pretty new to all this mechanical stuff and i havent found anything on the wiki or google iam asking you here.

i wanna replace some of my Choc Key Caps, since they are dang boring. Now the question is, what will fit, what will not.

maybe someone could answer my question, whos not ripster & trollin ^^

Basically all keycaps from Cherry MX Swichtes would fit. MY Swichtes Keycaps would fit too but not all. (check http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MY )

There a serveral opportunities to get nice keycaps:

* Participate in the Geekhack/Deskthority-DS-Group-Buy organisied by our beloved keyboard friend 7bit. http://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1494 But AFAIK Round 4 is close now.

* Harvest keys from used Cherry keyboards especially doublshots (You identify Cherry Doubleshots on the model name. All Cherry keyboards with doubleshots have a H in the name e.g. G80-2551 HAD : . The Germany ebay is a great source to obtain those caps.

* Look at ebay.com for keycaps with fancy colors. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... Categories But i have no clue about the quality of these keycaps.

* Look at the deskthority/geekhack marketplace

There are some switches on the choc mini that are not regular sizes. You right shift is short, I don't know if you could maybe use a cherry g80-1800 right shift. Also you right alt, fn and left win keys are all 1x keycaps, the space bar is also non-standared. You will find it neally impossible to get full replacment keycaps.

As long as you're talking bout the small 1x1 caps (aka alphanumerals). Everything larger COULD get tricky (shift, space, enter, caps, ctrl, alt etc). Also keep in mind that there's different profiles on different rows so if you find a funny looking ESC key you probably dont want to use it as 'S' or something like that.

Oh, and all of this has been completely beat to death over here and on geekhack so you could have already known about all of this.

i know, that just the alphanumerical keys will fit, but i wasnt sure enough, to buy them "out of the blue"

And since iam the lucky who works as an IT Consultant, i may have found an G81-3000LPNDE with some white Switches.

yes its a noppoo, but not my noppoo ^^ but i think this will do the trick (since i want my noppoo to look like this funky orange)

You should consider asking attarian I know he has some set of keycaps, including blank in color.

I konw the thread is in french but if you ask in english he'll answer. I don't know in which country you reside but if it's in Europe attarian is a good choice

do note that you'd have to ask for compatibility with the noppoo, he'll know I'd say.
