I think slider dampening is still a good idea for clicky switches. I don't like bottom-out (except Topre thock) or upstroke noise in any context. When it comes to clicky switches, the only sound I want to hear is the click-leaf and nothing else. Dampening clicky switches doesn't defeat their purpose, it defeats the undesirable noise that competes with the click leaf.
