Howdy All,
After tinkering with my new Model F and getting it going, I realized I could probably fix the two IBM Model Ms that I have sitting around from my youth. I have one that was made in 1993 and one made in 1994, the 1993 date example has a detachable cable and I at some point acquired a Soarer's converter equipped USB cable for it. I've connected it and done some basic testing after getting the firmware setup, and I'm pretty sure it needs a good cleaning and some springs replaced.
What's the best place to get parts for repairing IBM Model Ms?
Thanks

I have tons of Model M parts and will soon have more. What do you need?
You can also message ClickyKeyboards who has been dealing with Model M keyboards for years.

Thanks for the endorsement XMIT.
Yes, I have years of accumulated vintage IBM model M keyboards and original spare parts available (1985-1999).
Some are listed on the website, but you can also contact us for more esoteric and unique IBM parts.

Unicomp also has parts but most (if not all) would be new production and it's limited to basic things like cables, keys, and spring assemblies. Good if you're modding but if you want stock, you see the better options above.

I sent you a contact request, after reviewing what needs to be done, it might be better to have you do the repairs for me.clickykeyboards wrote: ↑03 Mar 2021, 18:42Thanks for the endorsement XMIT.
