Faster TrackPoint for a Model M?

One of my Model Ms has the TrackPoint. As some members had warned, the cursor movement is very slow. Twiddling the speed in the OS settings didn't help much. What was good on a 640x480 EGA monitor doesn't work well on a 1920x1080 monitor, I guess.

Anyway, it occurred to me - would it be possible to retrofit a new TrackPoint module into an old IBM keyboard? Like a replacement one for a Unicomp? I know there are a lot of styles and shapes for laptops, but I wasn't able to find a picture of a modern desktop module.

Unknown as to if anyone has ever been able to successfully retrofit a modern 21-century Lenovo trackpoint stalk/pointer + electronics controller into a vintage 1990's IBM model M-13

...But for reference, here is what keyboard-trackpoint controller inside the model M13 (1994-1998) looks like. Images show both the controller and the thin wires to go from controller in zig-zag way on front of model M13 keyboard to attach to stalk of the trackpoint pointer device.
