Short version: this guy has had to overcome some very serious hurdles in manufacturing. There's good reason why mice are made of plastic, not wood. Wood has non-uniform structure, it warps, splinters, and chips during milling; it's very difficult to make it both robust and flexible (for the buttons) - very easy with plastic; moisture from the user's hands is also a serious problem and requires the elaborate process of sealing the wood's pores - again a non-problem with plastic. So, if you have to have your mouse made out of wood, there's the hefty price to pay.
