Excellent! Would it be possible to order a pair of plates like this?
- ANSI return
- "reverse" left shift split, and right shift split
- 7bit-like modifier row with 4u space bar

Yes. As far as I know, the minimum order for the plates is 2, but keep in mind that my layout requires no stabilisers!

Right, the STAB200 I ordered are for a different project. Thanks.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ....

I don't know if there will be a case.
But just in case there is a case,
I handle the case of a case with the order-ID CASE.

It makes me want to kill it off from my monitor!

This is my favorite:

For sure it would be much more awesome, if she used a Phantom with 7BIT layout.

You will need the 2x keys with only 2 key mounts cc .75" for that. You know that, right? It won't work with "standard" stabilized 2x keys...

I have created a layout for a modified ISO plate that needs a little bit support in the geekhack thread.
Especially the ones of you who ordered an ISO plate should have a look at it if they are interested too.
If a few of you would join we could get this layout.
It is like an ISO version of the 7bit layout but without this 'crazy' (not meant offensive =) space row.

I call space bars larger than 4 units insanely crazy!

The 7BIT-layout bottom row is the sanest bottom row of all keyboards, ever!

A quick update. Test plates have been ordered last week. They should be done this week. But this week is only a 3-day work week due to the US Thanksgiving holidays. BiNiaRiS will may an PHANSI plate to me and I will put switches and keycaps on the plate to verify the plate. PCB design will be finalized after that and then we can order a couple of test PCBs for one more round of verification. If everything goes well, we can then collect payments for PCBs and plates.

I'm also interested in one PCB but I can't decide on the layout...

Take a PCB and mount plates for ISO and 7BIT.

@Half-Saint
Look at my layout idea a few posts earlier.
Perhaps that is what you like.
ISOwin layout as basis and a split right shift for getting a FN key there and full key block above the arrow keys.
Should be a great compromise between ISO and 7bit!

7bit told me that we got quotes back on switches. Looks like it is a go with switches. Brown, Clear, and Red are a go. We are at less than 200 switches for Blue and less than 400 for Black, so we may axe them if we don't get close to 1000 blue switches, the minimum order quote.

In case you missed it, it is OK if you just want to order switches through the Phantom group buy.

The PCB picture at the top of the first post has been updated to the final version. If you are planning for your special layouts, please check that there are switch positions for your layouts, especially on the front row. Keep in mind that the switch locations for the design is locked. So you will have to make your layouts work with this PCB design. Thanks.

Backplate and back screws, what does those do?

My idea! :geek:

Instead of a decadent case, just a metal plate with holes and rubber-feet is necessary.

The backplates could be done by the mount-plate manufacturer.

I'm still unsure if I really want this, becuase another option would be a wood-plate, except that this would lift up the keyboard a bit, which could be a bit too much along with SA-family switches.

What about this to make sure that semi-ISO-layout is possible (1.25-1 instead of 1-1.25 in row 4):

edit: I just see there are mistakes in the mount-plate!
The 2 additional cut-outs for the keys left and right of the regular space-key are missing!
What about the function row?

Look at that now =) I'll have to fix that I suppose. At least it's not the 7bit one that is being processed as the prototype right at the moment.
