What are you asking for the Set of MX Sliders ? Do you have enough to bring back a fully gutted novatouch ?

I'm not selling mx sliders separately - I'm offering Realforce keyboard with those installed if someone wants.guidemetothelight wrote: ↑24 Feb 2023, 15:51What are you asking for the Set of MX Sliders ? Do you have enough to bring back a fully gutted novatouch ?

I sold, two left.
I wonder why these are not getting much love nowadays.
R3 is awful, R1 design was the best, but lots of people like R2 as well. no?

Your prices might have something to do with it.
In all honesty, I’m not sure an R1 or R2 is better, but as they’re not making R1 any more I’ll just keep mine so I don’t regret it.

What prices would you suggest?
For example that modded R2 55g - I bought this keyboard of amazon, its brand new £290, then bought Deskeys sliders full pack, £120. So in total I paid £410. Minus caps, I'm asking £299 for it.

The amount of money you spent on a thing isn’t necessarily relevant to the amount of money anyone else will pay for it.
What board did you sell already? Was it the cheapest one?

Someone here is selling black R2 45g for around £230.
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=119581.0;topicseen
This is common price for lightly used/open box R2. I'm selling mine for £180, sold 55g for £200, so I think £299 for new 55g modded with mx sliders is very good price.

I see why you're listing for the price you are - when you buy these things retail and then add deskeys' very expensive sliders, it's not exactly outrageous that you're wanting 299.
However, R2s can be had for 140GBP brand new from an ebayer I've had good experiences with:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393777368517
They are also a lot less popular and in demand than the R1s, and no longer have the exciting new factor since the release of the much prettier Realforce R3.
I think it's also worth pointing out that modded Topre, for some reason, does not maintain its value very well, and rarely goes up in price unless someone wants exactly what you've created.

That R2 is 45g, widely available, 55g is more expensive, cause its not available that easily, you can order it from US amazon, paying extra customs fees like I did.wobbled wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 00:27I see why you're listing for the price you are - when you buy these things retail and then add deskeys' very expensive sliders, it's not exactly outrageous that you're wanting 299.

Do you think R3 is prettier?
They do both designs, new R3 with battery and BT, but also R2 design. I think new R3 is ugly, but thasts my opinion.

The R2 45g is indeed easier to get ahold of without imports, but if I really wanted 55g for whatever reason, I could import directly using sendico:phinix wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 11:59That R2 is 45g, widely available, 55g is more expensive, cause its not available that easily, you can order it from US amazon, paying extra customs fees like I did.wobbled wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 00:27I see why you're listing for the price you are - when you buy these things retail and then add deskeys' very expensive sliders, it's not exactly outrageous that you're wanting 299.

that's 146GBP, and on sendico I can under-declare value to avoid taxation, and they always have the best shipping rates (at least for me). I recently bought a Libertouch through sendico and it wasn't much more than 15GBP shipped.
But yeh as for looks, I greatly prefer the R3. The rounded corners are a nice throwback to the R1 boards. The bluetooth connectivity is really ideal for a clean desk, and newer Topre products now seem to come much better tuned than they used to.

Haven’t tried it yet myself, but current gen Snow Hybrid HHKBs are very well tuned, and from what I’ve heard about R3, they seem to be very much the samephinix wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 13:00You said new topre now comes better tuned.
