Well the title says it all. Unfortunately, I realized after filming that the Retr0bright appears to be depleted. The final color is not what I am expecting. Now I am trying to find another set of banana keycaps to redo the video including me actually putting the caps in and taking them out (before/after).
Still hope you enjoy the video:

I wondered that too :) I guess they are for for clamps that hold the camera?

They obviously are just used as weights preventing the assembly to float.

Edit: I should alwas read my posts aloud, it would prevent me from making silly mistakes

I use the HDDs to fix the keycap holder. It would simply float otherwise. Especially with all the gas building during the process, everything starts to float.

I use the HDDs because they have a suitable form and weight. Other things I tried tend to react with the hydrogen peroxide as well which just depletes the stuff. Stones do not work! Bare metal will also not work.

And the camera is hanging from outside the box. Got the whole box covered pretty well with plenty of ventilation slots. Heat and gas buildup could be a problem!

Very "high tech" weights. 25GB or more?

You need at least 250mb per keycap to hold them down!

Nonsense! We need some vintage hard drives in this video!
