Both are really interesting only 2 hours left on the Honeywell hall effect.

Indeed, I've no room for anything like either of those…

(I'd get it if I was in the UK, but I think shipping to Canada would be monstrous.)

This is interesting too - Honeywell hall effect:

But I did find this wiki page on Newbury's subsequent project: the NewBrain.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grundy_NewBrain

They failed to make it cheap enough for the BBC's spec, and it wound up running the Angolan government, so they say!
Don't tempt me with Tipros with little space bars!

Be aware this one has three matrix rows at the bottom of the alphanumeric field.
But well, still at 1€ less than 4 hours before the auction ends

When I see all those keys beneath the space bar…

I have indeed been considering integration of a RollerMouse (and palm keys) in one of those.
But it would be necessary to cut the PCB, which is far beyond my skills

Anyone bought one of these 'flat only' Goldtouch keyboards? What are these like feel wise?
Bizarelly, even though I have a *heap* of keyboards, apart from the HHK2 they are all PS/2 or *something more exotic*. I need a new USB keyboard.

Apparently they have 'creamy key action'!!!!

Yeah, CRTs are a real pain. It's the board's I'm into, anyway.
Nice one Skrsh3r! Reckon it's compatible with Soarer's converter?

I used an SGI Granite for quite a while at work, it's just a normal PC compatible PS/2 keyboard with dampened tactile Alps.

My case and spacebar looked as bad as this one, it was the first board I had to retrobright.

Even says AT on the back, now that I take a closer look!

A nice Granite is on my wishlist, and I do indeed like damped Alps. But I'm not sure this one is nice enough to bother hauling back west again!

The prices are, well, market price for these rarities of course. But worth a look for all the pretty pictures. And happening in Europe, for a change.

I love the Schnell Schreibmaschine! Curved spacebar, and shifts you can really hammer!

The whole curved layout it has is so steampunk I can't help admire it! But it was clearly designed for compactness and looks, rather than ergonomics.

My own belief system dictates that a machine must first look good, then perhaps be compact. If it meets these criteria, it might also be useful and even ergonomic. However, if it is only ergonomic and/or useful but fails to be aesthetic, then I prefer to have no use for it.

BTW: the innards of this machine are even more interesting!

Including the unfortunate history: these machines may have been technically excellent, as well as real lookers, but the company still went bust not long later.
