The fact a rusted out FK-2001 went for $360 over this much higher quality board with the same layout is laughable. A damn travesty.
The biggest travesty was the M0115 that sold for $500 though

Maybe blue Alps prices are just coming back to Earth a little bit? $300 to $400 seems like a pretty severe and unreasonable spike. Sure, the demand is incredible, but they aren't really that rare.

I'm fine with them dropping a bit. A lot, actually. But not too much when I have some in an auction. :?

I think you will do okay. It helps that you're an enthusiast and that you know how to take a photo and describe a keyboard.

Your keyboard is amazing in its own way. Not just because of the switches. Any old alps ANSI board with good quality is a treasure.

Looks like one of its ears is broken, and both(?) feet.

The ears are crap - I have filed them down flat and good riddance. I never use legs, I like keyboards flat.

This is a perfect donor chassis for somebody building an XTant.

The FTxx code on the back means foam and foil.

It's weird; I used to like my keyboards flat, but I prefer them more with an incline these days. I can still use them flat, but eh. I also like seeing the different feet mechanisms of different keyboards. It's always cool to see them, from the most basic, to the odd ones like the Xerox 6085/Docutech. I also like the ones on the Zenith Z-150 a lot.

The LEDs and the red LED windows is another big giveaway for Keytronic foam and foil.

I'll keep that jotted in my memory as indicators for foam and foil! Always good to know the visual cues in this scavenger hunt of a hobby.

Looks like a rubberdome Rudelbums but someone might spot something nice in there.
Yes, I spy 11 rubberdomes and one definite MY or MX canditate. Best case scenario, MX, though in that case I think it unlikely that it's anything other than MX Black. Worst case, MY. However, I see scoops so it should be thick lasered PBT keycaps, which are OK in their own right. Whether it's worth that much to anyone is up to them.
Buyer beware!

I bought the one "interesting" keyboard from that auction, yes that Cherry with the scoops, asked the seller to list it as a separate article which he did. 14€ shipped, not exactly a steal, but I love that thick PBT... Maybe I will dye them, either dark grey or kingfisher blue.

That wrist rest might be breadly if you have small children. They'd try to eat it and get sick; they'd be stuck loafing around for a while and get doughy. It'd certainly get a rise out of you, then.

How do such good puns go unnoticed? I certainly giggled my buns off

I'd love to have one of these, even just to look at. Anyone know the switch type?

Edit: Some kind of rubber dome, I'm seeing.

Interesting how the QWERTY keyboard shown on the box has "hat" keycaps for Alt and Caps Lock, but the QWERTZ board inside does not.

I've never seen anything like that, I can't find out much about it either sofar. Pretty strange. Some clone keyboard for the 5160 I guess.

That appears to be a Tai-Hao board like the TH-5539 Aruz that was discussed before. Those should be thick doubleshots with Cherry-like profiling. The design of the bottom casing matches Tai-Hao as well.

Tai-Hao only has a few registered FCC IDs. This would be GOG3YLTH-5160.

Could be Aruz, Tai-Hao's premium switch, or maybe their APC Alps clone. I've never tried that series.
