Looks like the same keyboard that was used for the 5140: Alps SKCM Brown, Alps SKCL Compact for the compact keys.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I greatly prefer the aesthetics of these boards over the 5140 though.

Much better than the $1200 Symbolics mouse that popped up lately:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-VINTAGE-HA ... 2120395083?

That mouse was black though.

Appears to be an early (pre-black model) Datacomp DFK192 -- the black version has White Alps:

I have that same board, but in ISO layout. Also SKCM whites.

Finally 60%

18 May 2016, 15:29

Honestly, the whole store is pretty nice, especially the 60% section for anyone wanting to build a cheap 60% custom, or those looking for a cheap case.

As a test, I ordered a plastic case from them last Thursday, they shipped the next day, and my package just left Hong Kong so I'm looking forward to seeing when it will get here.

Just bought a plate from them, with stabilisers as well. Hopefully it's of good quality, looks like it has holes that accommodate switch top removal, will confirm when I get it.

If this goes well I think I will order a clear Poker style case.

People report that they are harder to solder.

yes, the are harder to solder. The legs are as long as the pcb and they level with it, meaning that soldering has to be done carefully. I have the short version on my Dolch-Leeku and it was a pain in the ass to get them all soldered correctly.

I have also the short version (with plastic that I removed before install them), but dont have soldered them yet.

They are harder to solder as you have to use more solder for them to make a good connection.

So much cool junk from the 80s and 90s never made it out of Japan in substantial amounts, or even at all :(

ok, we should all move to Japan then + find a job where we do not have to work our liver out of our bodies + deal with a a little bit of skepticism and racism that Asian people have towards the rest of the world + buy all the nice vintage computing stuff we can find = profit :P

They are starting to get wise to it anyway, man. Look at the price of the 5576-003 on Yahoo Auctions these days. Even if we did form a keyboard cult (Alps Shinrikyo?), we'd still be getting rorted because shrewd businessmen are everywhere :)
