I messaged the seller asking where he found it. Hopefully it’s an interesting story and he responds.

Maybe they bought it for sixty grand and they're just flipping it for a quick buck.

Think how much it would cost with an Xwhatsit already installed. :D

Nice setting, btw.

Mine just works in front of a screen for a living.
I'd give anyone a deal. Only $60,000! And an Xwhatsit installed! And converted to ANSI!

Hey, don't sell yourself short. That Xwhatsit surely bumps the price to $60,100! It's a hairy piece of work to install…

$60,000? You're paying a king's price. Clearly you didn't get an offer of $28,536
I wonder about the logic of these ridiculous prices...

Looks still for sale to me, now at a 90% reduced price. At this rate it'll be free by next week

If you're in the market for a vintage Wang terminal board, there's one on shopgoodwill right now for a very low price, with about 1.5 days left to bid:

Looks very similar to the board attached to a 2236 terminal.

I wonder if the plate will fit Cherry size switches, those keycaps would be amazing to use even though some are missing. But I don't know if that would be considered sacrilege.

FWIW this wound up selling for $23.

Way less than I would've thought for a nice Wang like that...

Depends where they were willing to ship it to.

Re: the Kishsaver. Looks like they failed to sell it, but fancy another shot when they have more “stock.” I’d translate that to “bare faced cheek” and blind hope for some poor yet minted sucker to show up next time.

You think someone with the gall to offer people a keyboard for 28 thousand dollars really had more than one? ;)

I expect they had no takers, but liked the attention and reckoned they could just return to the same spot for another round of fishing another day…

What a shame they don't ship to Germany... How am I going to spend those 7000 quid now that I have laying around the house?

All those who were watching the listing received an offer of just below USD 4000, and then it was gone. It probably sold for that amount...

Including the "YES/NO" key, so one can politely reply the "very special key" request. :D

(Jokes aside, has anyone got one of these working?)

Nice link. The native setup looks pretty wild.

Can’t argue with a certain special A key.

The KidTRAC on the website is a better deal at £40. While that one was made a few companies ago, the new version of that sells for $150. I have two different "L-Trac" trackballs from two different companies (CST and X-Keys). My two (one glowy and one not) have integrated scroll wheels, though. Totally worth the $10 upgrade price.

When is a sixty not a sixty? When it has 24 function keys and another 10 spare if you’re bored of those.

The Datalux Spacesaver arrow keys are a nice touch though. Chyros adores them. ;)

NOS Marquardt Series 6184 switches (Standard momentary). I ordered a full keyboards worth for myself and they are indeed never soldered. Also surprisingly smooth although you can feel and hear the contact leaf scratch against the stem. Despite using the same cross mount they don't fit regular Cherry profile keycaps, since the rim hits the edges of the switch. Probably the case for other MX style keycaps as well.
