"Clicky" on an ebay listing could mean pretty much anything in my experience. In this case, that looks a lot like a generic termainal board with MX Blacks, can't really say anything more specific than that I'm afraid. Still, it looks cheap enough to take a punt on, at worst it'll be a good source for switches.

Depends on the year of manufacture, I can't see any labels or anything showing it though. I think late 80's early 90's is the "vintage" era for blacks...I'm not sure though, personally I don't have a preference when it comes to black switches (other than Nixdorfs, but they're more or less a different switch).

Also, my comment about it being worth a punt is based on the assumption that you are a US buyer...the listing is coming up with a $45 postage fee to the UK which is about three times more than what I'd value the board at!

I feel there are 4 stages of MX black

Lubbed Vintage = Silk
True vintage/ nixdorf ( with the slightly lighter spring) = Awesome!
Old blacks ( old but the same 'spec' as modern(90s)) = very good
New blacks/red = Sandpaper

how do you know if their lubed though andrew without opening them? And the lube might not be 100% after all those years!

I disagree :

New blacks -

Vintage-ish blacks 1995+ - Noticeably rough. Needs lube.
Pretty vintage blacks 1992-95 - Smooth. Needs lube though.
Very vintage blacks 1990-92 - Pretty damn smooth. You would probably struggle to tell these from true vintage switches. Lube makes them almost perfect.
True vintage 1988/89 - Perfectly smooth. Just as smooth as younger vintage blacks properly lubed, but none of the sluggishness that comes with lube.

You would need to take the whole board. Space is a grey btw.

Vintage blacks, so linear of course. Covered in grime/grit so be ready to spend hours and hours cleaning possibly including the switches too. You can get it for a $15 best offer.

For the top 3 boards yeah they are pretty damn crappy but appear to be RD but I'm not positive. No idea on the last keyboard.

Nope, it's related to these:

Sliders over rubber dome. Whether the Windows key version still has sliders, I don't know.

That's a lot like the one I saw at a radio rally. It had really tactile switches that—from peering under the keycaps—seemed to be what we now know are [wiki]Siemens STB[/wiki] switches. The one I saw said "Siemens" though, and the machine was cream colour, not grey, I think. Not the same model, but presumably part of the same product family.

Presumably, the first picture was just taken from somewhere else, because it looks "close enough" (and better than what the seller had).

That Nixdorf box reminds me of some of the Panasonic-made XT clones; they also had built in printers and similar looking keyboards. In particular, check out the "Senior Partner" model.
