Write your compiler in machine code, on silicon that you fabbed yourself. Then you might be safe. Probably. Maybe. Kinda sorta. Nah, not at all.

Also, Mini DisplayPort to dual link DVI involves a protocol conversion. This is about as cheap as it gets to get that: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=1 ... 1&format=2

And you don't want that one (or the Apple one, for that matter), you want this one: http://www.accellcables.com/products/ul ... =729675125

(See, both the Monoprice and Apple ones are limited to 268 MHz, as that's all that's needed for 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz. The Accell 3D one will do 330 MHz, the maximum of the dual-link DVI spec. It's what I use to drive a T221 at 33.839 Hz.)

Google is in on it as well, Hangouts has come a long way and it's becoming more pervasive. Skype is not nearly as archaic today as floppies were at the end of their time on top.

Almost all of the mainstream social media or messaging systems today that aren't on the deep web are being government monitored. They are probably monitoring DT also so we don't commit any acts of terrorism...

Wow, looks like these are the most sought after of the model F's?

I am looking into an unsaver, Gonna get it from Ellipse. Quite a big price I have to pay. It is a rare board though so I can't argue with the price.

No, please, do argue.
If some people blindly pay what the seller asks for, the prices will soar higher and higher. Ellipse's method of pricing seems to be along the lines of "Once upon a time, a keyboard like this sold for x$ so I am asking for x+y$."
The following is a PSA: "Do your part. Keep the prices sane. The community thanks you."

Never pay sticker price in general.

Then there is this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271794152287

I asked the seller to reconsider their $35 asking price and offered $20 after the auction already finished (at least) once with no buyer. I got no response. Once the auction finished, again, with no buyer, it was relisted as:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281626635909

Now $45.

I'm no longer interested as I brought one home from Cindy instead. :-D She certainly appreciates our business.

...or this, the beam spring reverse auction:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221688090065

Originally $250. I offered the seller, well, something less, and my offer was curtly declined. This went down to $230 and now $200.

Do you think 520$ shipped is a good price? :?

This is more than I would pay. I could import two Topres from Japan for that price. I could even pick up an AT Model F or rebuild an XT Model F with an XTant board for much less. F107s are less too, as are SSKs.

It is a very nice keyboard and it is your money. But there is a reason I don't have an Unsaver or an F62.

Yeah, I do think it is very pricey still. But the unsaver is my dream board and I could sell my F122 since I will be using the unsaver in its place. It also turns out the keyboard might be made on my birthday. That makes it even more desirable. The extra space I get from TKL gives me just the extra amount of space I need for a comfortable mouse position. I absolutely love the layout and I am going to also map the four keys next to the arrow cluster. The problem is that I am going to do a lot of work in order to make it up to its full potential and I still have to pay 520$

I also won't have my beloved F122 anymore. I was planning to get an unsaver for like 300 or so dollars with the money I will make selling a couple bolt modded M122's that I have. Now I won't have the extra money for a F107(the one other F board I want) and I will have to sell my F122.

I can totally understand wanting a keyboard made on your birthday. There is a Model F XT on eBay right now born the day before my birthday. :x

I'm sure your F122 will sell easily.

If you want a comfortable mouse position - consider mousing with your left hand.

I tried that. It was very odd and the actual keyboard part of my F122 was in an odd place so typing was awkward.
I also like the idea of having a speaker on the board and having key to map next to the arrow cluster.

Well, no one else has an unsaver up for sale and this one could be made on my birthday so I will most likely end up buying it. :(

Darn it... A friend from reddit learned that only one connector component in the keyboard was made on my birthday, not the keyboard itself.

The keyboard was made the 43rd week of 1984 sometime in october.

Oh well. :| I still really want an unsaver though. It hasn't changed as its status of being the dream board.

I've got three SSKs, which are still quite small, but the feel just doesn't compare to a Model F in my opinion.

Yep. I didn't understand all the hype about Kishies... until I got a model F myself. It's amazing. It's like clicky Topres. With full metal housing.

Yeah. Model Fs have some of the nicest switches out there. The only thing lacking is the crap form factor of the Model F XT and AT, which is why the "Kish" family is so sought-after.

the layout of the 62 for me is one of the best layouts for a small board , the space bar is a little small and i like separate function keys but other than that its golden. The model F is amazing , its not quite up there with beamspring but its the next best thing , some aspects of it are better such as the form factor and the simple way you can change around the layout.

its no dream layout ...

http://deskthority.net/resources/dream-layout/15319

but its close

( that dream layout is a little out of date i would change the backspace and |\ to unix layout
