I bought an IBM Pingmaster recently which has Alps SKCC Green switches. I have some nice key caps I want to use with them but they are for Cherry MX switches.
Are there any adapters available out there?
Thanks!

I am not aware of any adapters. Due to the design of SKCC switches I would thing an adapter would be too tall to be usable.
What would be better would be a replacement slider with MX mount but these don't exist yet either. You would have to design a solution yourself basically.

The Alps SKCC cross mount is actually kinda close to the Cherry MX mount. The thickness of the cross arms is almost on point, all you would need to do is shorten the arms a bit. I tried this once with an SA profile keycap and it worked quite good.
So if you are ready to modify your switches this might be a solution, just try it on a spare switch and keycap first!

Do you have a picture of what it looks like after you did it?Nuum wrote: ↑19 Mar 2019, 16:25The Alps SKCC cross mount is actually kinda close to the Cherry MX mount. Here is a crappy smartphone pic. You'd actually need to shave the arms down a bit more and the fit is quite tight, so be careful if you attempt this!

NEXUS - ALPS TO MX CONVERSION
Ever tried SKCM Alps switches? Let me tell you, theyre one of the finest tactile typing experiences on the planet. These switches have always been the exotic at the meetups; Theyre fantastic to type on but a pain in the ass to find caps for.
Those days are over. The Nexus slider and Nexus Housing allow you to convert your favorite Alps SKCM and SKCL switches to MX compatibility.
.. check the prices, $10 for 5 sliders, yikes.
