Heyy there,
I got a good offer for the Cherry G1504 eHealth Keyboard and thought of making something interesting out of it with custom caps.
Anyone knows something about the switches of this kbd? Cherry website just says mechanism is "linear" - not sure what this means - I am a beginner...
Would usual cherry mx caps fit on this kbd?
Greetings
Cherry 87 G1504 Switches any good?

Unfortunately, there is yet not much info in the Wiki about the these keyboards:Palatino wrote: ↑01 Aug 2021, 22:43PS if you can get a picture of the back of the board, look up the serial number here wiki/Cherry_article_numbers
"Cherry G87 series appears to be a specific series for Cherry's eHealth-BCS terminal keyboards.
These appear to all be rubber dome keyboards (presumably based on the Cherry G86 series), but the specifics are not known."
"Cherry G86 series appears to be Cherry's high end rubber dome keyboard series intended for high reliability operations such as POS keyboards. These keyboards are spill-proof."
(Many "appears" there ... )

Mystical keyboards - hehe... Possibly because cherry wants to sell to health related companies only...
I found a screenshot of the backside though...
Rubberdome would be kinda sad for keyboards that expensive... (saw a similar one for like 700$ new) o.O
But the used one would be just 50$...
Maybe I can visit the seller soon to check the hardware by myself...

I have one of these and here in germany there are seals on the keyboard approved by the goverment. if those seals are broken you cant use them in any doctor's office. If i am not mistake the retail price is even higher, around 700€.
I got mine for 1 euro and i can assure you, its just a trash keyboard.
If you want a keyboard with a cardreader try to find a g80-1500.

Yup, I just checked my G86 and the "appears" in the wiki is right: rubber dome. Pretty good feeling rubber dome but nothing special. I got mine in order to strip out and reuse the relegendable keycaps.

Thanks for checking. Still some nice POS layouts within the series for collecting for a few bucks
Guess I will watch out for G80 instead
