That was fast... looks like I have come to the right place after a long time of looking for my lovely keyboard.

I took a look on the suggestions here (Mitsumi, Aristotle, Chyros donations)... but it seems I had something different.

The keybard I had was very soft in touch and silent... buttery and light as Muirium put it. When you type, it feels like cutting through hot butter with knife (as we say in German).

Is it possible that it was some kind of rubberdome?

But yes, you're right. I found a KB-5193R with clicky Cherry MX Blue switches. So "R" is not for rubberdome.
It really sounds like a board with these:

wiki/Mitsumi_miniature_mechanical

But in good condition.

They sound nothing like that in a chicony chassis. Watch chyros’s vid I linked earlier.

Chassis make all the difference. Everything is meaty in a thicc one. ;)

Edit: Actually they sound little like chyros’s vid either. His mic is too close. All thump, no switch. They’re actually quite subtle. Even a Topre will sound like a racket if you mic it from the table. :P

Aahh, yes, that might be the reason :-)

I'll give it a try and buy one.

Thanks, Muririum and others.

Great forum!

Edit: The more I watch typing videos with this switch, the more I think you're right.

I asked a friend to bring any keyboard from his Tokyo trip.
Well, one piece more for the collection, I guess I never will bring it back to service.
Any idea, what this one was made for? Thank you for infos, cheers

Looks a lot like a Bondwell/Omron board: https://imgur.com/a/Mif2Tky; https://imgur.com/a/mCGfsa8. I used to own one of those which had some excellent amber Omrons in them. Might be worth checking this one out.

It's an NEC PC-98 board of some sort. Likely NMB dome with slider. TMK supports the protocol.

Thank you for the tip, I have it with me now and yes, it has amber Omrons. They seem clean on the outside but the feel is not very good, kinda mushy. Will try deep cleaning when I make some time.

As I currently own two amber Omron keyboards, I'll first say that they are excellent clicky switches and can feel absolutely fantastic. The second thing is that if you find a couple switches aren't working properly, check out this thread.

As far as I can tell, you can't open the switch plate. You also have to desolder the switch to open it.

I think so. Awfully sounds like Alps but very dirty sounding. Was afraid of pulling off the keycaps because I don't have a wire puller in hand.

Ah ok , thanks for clarifying.

Its from a bin of Electronic Scrap , but all Boards look to be Rubber domes , maybe theres a G80 3000 with lasered keycaps in there , but thats not worth the 60 km drive.

Definitely Robotron — Siemens put such top-hat caps only on low-profile switches.

Wyse Ultimate???

https://imgur.com/a/CPo8PQq

I am looking for a Wyse with a 10 pin DIN to pair with my Wyse-50 terminal. (going to try and use it with on an Odroid HC4)
But this one doesn't have a part #.

I want to spend like 40-50 bucks, but that seems impossible because it seems everyone took those old Wyse's and separated them.
