A good start! Photos by you, of course? Note: much easier if submissions link the image instead of a number. They are manually, not numerically sorted! So instead of 230, say this:

Image

Much easier to find visually than hovering over a lot of arbitrarily numbered pics!

I'll just post this here so Scott and others can spot it:
scottc wrote: I'm willing to write descriptions if there's some nice way to submit them...
Superb new feature that. Exactly the right place for these descriptions to be. Because, let's face it, no one was writing or reading them before; too hidden away to discover. People would even fire up new threads just to ask!

Anyone who wants to help ID the existing pictures can do so in this thread. Just include the photo your description is about, so we don't get tangled up! I already figured out Webwit's new UI for entering the text:
Image
Click the i button on the image in question, and…
Image
Insert sage words of identifying wisdom here.

Impressed!

Edit: Oh, I see a limitation. Embedding links into those descriptions requires HTML speak:

Code: Select all

<a href="/post180240.html#p180240">Black Kishsaver</a>. Photo by <a href="/snoopy-u1682/">snoopy</a>.
Instead of the phpBB-ese that I'm used to:

Code: Select all

It's indeed a really nice feature! I'll do my headers tonight!
Just a minor point: The i button is invisible on light background (like the Julietta)

LOL! Thanks seebart. I took that picture exactly to get that angle for a banner but I thought twice and have something else in mind. I'll try to take a pic later and post an alternate banner. I also have an idea for the Industrial PC XT. I do appreciate you do that thought. Options are always good and you are welcome any time to chop up my pics for banners.

Sure snuci but we already have an Oak FTM header, this one does not work well IMO. The Cat on the ohter hand is a winner...

Agreed, the Cat is brilliant!

Thank you very much for that Mu. But seriously we all know photography is no easy task to master even with stationary objects like ours.

I was thinking that there are too many close-ups these days when viewing the banners so my idea for the Canon Cat was to feature a little more of it with a patterned background. The keyboard is nice but the Cat is awesome (to me).

Here's a couple of shots:

I like the first better because it shows more of the Cat but it's a gloomy day today so my lighting isn't great. I'm completely happy going with Seebarts as well if no one likes these.

That one is great and really makes a nice header image. Also, the lighting is perfect as it is. Everything is a little desatured, no strong shadows, adds to the mood.

snuci's shot's with the wooden floor are a absolutely stunning!
They have to be added to active headers, it's a no-brainer :D

snuci's shot of the canon cat with the hardwood is amazing, add that with the other canon cat one i think

Also the first HHKB logo image is great, add that for sure.

As long as you pick the Cat on wood I am happy :D
I's up to you though, pick the one you like most!
