You can use Soarers Converter/Controller to translate the Model-F controller output to USB but you can't use it to replace the controller. If you have a Model-F controller that works with one of the Soarers, you're lucky. It's always much easier if the controller speaks XT/AT ;)

Soarer's _converter_ can be used for XT/AT/similar boards - and F122 falls into that category. Displaywriter unfortunately does not. In addition, TMK converter can be used to drive 4704s, and Soarer's _controller_ has been used with bigfoots.

I'm kind of bummed now that I used xwhatsit's controller before testing native+Sarer controller combo, as I really don't have the will now to go through the whole process of desoldering and soldering all over again. Probably twice.

And I also wonder if the same approach could work with blueswitch model Fs.

I posted this in Soarer's controller thread, but it's more on topic here

Displaywriter has a serial data line. I suppose this means that Soarer's controller can't be configured for that, but is there a possibility to make custom converter, possibly based on TMK?.
