They meant the YK2100. That is the Model No. for the 104UG.

Will the hi pro caps fit onto my 87u?

They fit on HHKB's so I don't see why not. I'm trying to find some Hipro caps at the moment as well to put on my pro 1, buying two hipro keyboards both JIS and ANSI just to get a hipro hhkb would be very expensive.

If you find hipro caps, I’m in! I’ve been looking for years. Maybe I’ll harvest them for my hhkb2bt... now here is a thought.

Yep, aside from the left Ctrl position, which is rotated due to the LED. You will have to get rid of the LED and replace the housing there. I believe modifying the plate is necessary. A rotary tool or file would work for that.

Yeah, the lack of Topre-compatible keycap sets is a major drawback to standard Topre keyboards, IMO. I wouldn't ever want to be limited to what can be harvested from some other Topre keyboard. That's why I only use the Realforce RGB.

I’m a typist not a gamer. But I agree.

Mailcall: The Keyboard Company just delivered my new 104UG HiPro...

It feels quite light but I like it. The only reason for getting this board was the keycaps, which are NOT available separately. Being a RealForce user already, I am not surprised by the high build quality however what I am surprised by is the industrial nature of the board. Its very IBM industrial grey, and the caps are a very pleasing mid grey. It looks like a very serious bit of kit.

Is there a way to make these 45g switches heavier? Without doing anything too invasive? They are just a little too light for me, I will only need another 10-15g, to bring it into line with my 87u. They seem much lighter than the HHKB which I thought was also 45g.

Case mounted topre always feels heavier. Your only options are to use the board repeatedly until it naturally stiffens or buy a 55g rf and domeswap

I'll let them stiffen naturally.

The dark, gray, industrial aesthetic of the 104UG was just too depressing for me, which is why I went for the more retro-styled 104UK.

Really? That is a shame as I think it looks great. My 87u is that colour scheme which is nice. Which market did you get your 104UK from? I can't see it in the EU/UK.

I special ordered it from an eBay seller (located in Korea) named widebasket.
