I've seen on a second hand mobile application (wallapop, don't know how to take images from it) two clones of IBM keyboards, one is a clone of IBM Model F AT (din connector) which by the photos seems the Philips clone with space invaders, and a Model M clone with HP brand, each one sold by a few.

These TI boards may have Green Alps for $55. Mine, which I sold a while back, did. Troublesome layout, so really only good as a donor board.

Gonna PM the seller about it.

What are the caps like ? They look ok from the picture !

If there are multiple i would not mind a set of green alps and caps.

Someone just bought one. I might not have time to get a response from the seller!

How sure are you that the board is green alps Mark?

This is what I'm basing it on.
Seller updated with a picture verifying the green alp goodness. Thanks for the heads up ohaimark!

I'm glad that all of you find green, brown, and yellow Alps appealing because I find these somewhat often and simply don't find linear switches to be all that interesting (apart from magnetic valve and Hall effect of course). Isn't a green Alps just the same as some other Alps with the tactile/click leaf removed?

Now a silenced orange Alps, that would be something.

The caps are moderately thick. Dye-sub, but likely ABS due to the yellowing I saw on mine.

Edit: I bet the seller is kicking himself for not listing them at a higher price.

He seemed pretty chill when I PM'd him.

I think he just wanted them gone.

ohaimark, you know ABS and dyesub are mutually ezclusive? If they're ABS then they're likely pad printed or similar.

Posted: 24 Feb 2016, 20:11
by Muirium
Yup. ABS melts at the kind of temperature dye sublimation requires.

Because ABS is shitty, second rate, craptastic stuff!

ABS - Acrylonitrile Bullshit

It's right there in the name.

Edit: I kid. ABS isn't so bad, just DON"T TOUCH IT!

The S actually stands for styrene: think styrofoam. Which is even worse in my opinion!

Did this guy cancel everyone's orders or does he really have 8 more? :o

Nvm, it's his last one, he just didn't update the quantity.

This is the first time I was one of those people that got it while it was cheap

Two of those boards I got with an offer of 100$

Congrats, not a bad deal. I was in real early on these (last night) but I just spent my last keyboard monies on a nice minty looking blue Alps Focus FK-2001. I'm pretty happy but, alas, I had to sit this one out. Too much good stuff lately. :(

Wait did you buy the one at 360$?

Nope! I managed to find one much cheaper (2015 blue Alps price, RIP) and nicer. It was so hidden you could only find it by accident :)
