Of course that is an easy modification (in conjunction with a bolt-mod) if you wanted to "go backward"
The Lexmark had an attached cable, from the looks of it - odd with the AT DIN plug.

I like it the way it is for its peculiarity. Yes, it has an attached cable, the flat style.

Wow, very interesting! Never seen something like this before. I was under the impression that only ATs had big-ass enters in the buckling spring family.

Not a desktop keyboard, but IBM wheelwriters also had big ass enter. This is definitely the first time I have seen it on a M, though. Nice find!

Very cool find! That model number isn't even in the wikipedia table of M model numbers:

I remember Compuadd. They were a very solid computer company in the early 1990s. Very interesting that they had their own branded version of the IBM M. I wish I had some of the catalogs still as I would have remembered seeing that. I remember they always had their own branded keyboards with that heavily embossed, almost carved logo. Ah the days of a bygone era.
