Problems with Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja (USB only)

Hi All, new here and really hope that I can have some advice here.

Description

Been using MJ2 for a while now, about 5 yrs if I recall. For the last years I have been using the USB to PS/2 dongle with no issue on my old system. Recently did an upgrade to a system with no PS/2 port, so I started using USB.

Sometimes when I first start my computer in the morning, I would realise that the keyboard is not working, with the error message "set address failed" in device manager. I have tried it on another windows 7 system with the same issue. So I would say it is not the usb ports.

One interesting thing is, I used the PS/2 dongle on another system to check again, and I did not have any problems at all. However, the system I want to use the keyboard on does not have PS/2 ports

Solution
Do you guys think it is a problem with the USB cable? If such I could try replacing it, but would like to have a clearer idea before doing so.
I am also considering to have a USB to PS/2 to USB (2 dongles). Do you think this may be a quick and dirty fix to the problem?
