I ran into a old discussion group post which describes the retrieving of an ancient Cherry keyboard from 1978: the G80-0110.

You can read the post here (it's in italian though): http://groups.google.com/group/it-alt.c ... 8a9037d435

We learn that the keyboard is "small", hosted in a heavy metal housing (possibly a rackmount?) and with spherical keycaps. It's also my understanding that the alpha keycaps sport functions like "WRU TAPE, TAPE [with arrows], X OFF, EOT, FORM".

Googling this model didn't help finding more infos or pics about the mystery keyboard. I tried to contact the guy but his email address is broken – keep in mind that his post dates back to 2007!

Anyone knows more about this?

No, but I found this long ago http://www.sintek.it/ei_004.html. But I was not able to contact them.

That's cool (and probably very expensive if still in production).

Possibly. Too bad no pictures of the actual keyboard are available!
