Hi- I came across an NMB RT-101 in a E-Waste pile, and some keys, namely D,G,I, V don't always register and G isn't very clicky. Can I save this keyboard??

The G key is in pretty bad shape, it doesn't click very well and fails to register a noticeable amount of presses

I bought a cheap DIN to mini-DIN(PS/2) adapter on ebay- could that be causing the missed keypresses?

Not very likely, I think. Do you have a potentiometer to measure the specific switches that seem to act up?

I have no experince in "fixing" those switches, however there should be a good chance for you to find some NOS black Space Invaders right now (a whole lot of SI boards surfaced in Germany and are fairly well distributed amongst the community by now).

So if you can't bring those few switches back to life, you could just replace em.

G seems to be clicking again, after removing and reseating the slider. [;/:] key was acting up and was completely linear and quiet, and same procedure got that working again. the Numpad enter key has some random spring from a CD/floppy drive release mechanism because when I got it, the enter key was stuck to the slider and no spring to be seen

Rando spring? Well, it’s worth every penny you paid for it!

If you persevere, it’s a quality keyboard, in truth.

Currently fixing keys as I run into issues, re-seating the slider and cleaning the socket seems to work great

You’ve got the hang of it! It’s well worth the effort. Black space invaders are one of my faves.
